I'm in Aus and there's a few Chinese electric cars I wasn't familiar with. Favourite name is certainly the Build Your Dreams but it looks like you can get them in the UK as of last month.

They've certainly improved their design hehe

The look and name of these Chinese brands remind me of cars from Grand Theft Auto.

I can't be the only person that finds "Build Your Dreams" to be a terrible name for a brand of cars?
Much like having "People's Car" written on the back.
Maybe someone in a European ‘design studio’ has pointed that out. They seem to be going with the abbreviated BYD here.

Hmm. Best to tick the ‘model badge delete’ option.

Would dental floss, WD-40 and a hairdryer void the warranty? hehe

I’m thinking of putting my own badges on the back of my Dacia Duster “ Lowered my standards”.

Mitsuoka Buddy

Quite a funky looking thing

Based on the Toyota RAV-4 Hybrid but styled to look like an old Chevy Blazer

Quite a 90’s Japanese name for the car as well. “Buddy” smile

Reminds me of the Daihatsu Applause, and the Mazda Bongo Friendee!

Not one person will believe it came out of the factory with that glued to the back like that.

Mitsouka gained some infamy for their pastiches of 60's Jags, but I didn't realise they also make a version of an 80's SUV called the Buddy

And the Corvette, based on the MX5

Which, get the pitchforks ready, I really like

That looks quite amusing, and probably won't look too silly in the metal as the RAV4 is a decent size these days. paperbag

Have we all seen the new Toyota Crown? You've probably heard about the old ones.

Unfortunately the new one is not coming to Blighty or Oz. But 40 other countries are getting it.

And while the new Crown is not necessarily about thrills, I invite you to wear a different hat: engineer, product manager, salesperson.

. . . It's a saloon, but it rides on a lifted suspension.

. . . Choice of two petrol engines, but each is strictly a hybrid.

. . . Not about performance, but it does offer up to 400 lb-ft of torque.

. . . All configurations are AWD.

. . . Optional two-toned colour: with contrasting black bonnet!

Weird. That's what reviews say about this car. But I reckon it's a good weird.

More importantly, the new Crown is reported to have Lexus-like features. Toyota is democratising that little bit of premium. Possibly because the Koreans and others are doing the same.

Four versions, each hideous compared to previous gens (yes I own one) frown

Someone did show off this at the Tokyo Auto Saloon...
