You may not be familiar with these offerings from Toyota, Nissan and Wuling.

Had a sit in a couple of Wulings on display at malls. Good value - loads of kit etc. Nice place to sit for £15,000.

I was seriously thinking about one as the CR-V we have is not worth £10,000 more, in my opinion.

The Vellfire is about £60,000. Neighbour has one. Its okay.

This sort of thing I find odd, why would VW allow their badge to be associated with a Ford, what's wrong with a Errr........... VW?!
VW have form.

1982 - what product could you badge up as a VW and sell in Argentina which would show your brand in the best possible light - you know, high quality, reasonable cost, unburstable reliability, thoroughly modern? You got it...

Are the Wuling or the CR-V made OS or in Indo? No love for the venerable old Kajang Innova?

I was a little thrown off seeing both of these yesterday, the Suzuki Swace and Suzuki Across which are literally rebadged Corollas and RAV4s!

I came across the Suzuki Across on Autotrader when I was having a random browse the other day - nearly spat out my drink when I saw they were asking £45k for a bland rav-4 lookalike with a Suzuki badge. However, it appears to be a PHEV which probably explains the premium. For me, explaining is certainly not the same as justifying though - they will really struggle to get Brits into 45k Suzuki’s, even with PCP. About 10 years ago they launched the Kizashi - a family saloon to rival Insignias etc. At 20-odd grand 10 years ago it seemed expensive for a Suzuki and only came with a petrol engine - needless to say I’ve seen about 4 in the decade since.

Went to the garage last week, and the sight of an unknown car was driving me crazy. I spent hours navigating websites and forums looking for this supercar.

Nope, turns out it's a car built in a shed for fairly affordable money. I give you the Contera MD1

I'll leave judgements to you gents smile
The front and rear of that car both look really nice.

It's just a shame they changed the scale on the design drawings and didn't tell the guys building the final car

I'm not a fan of big grilles either, but honestly I think it looks great.

Would make sense, they were licence built in Romania, badged as Dacia 1300.

They were called the Denem in the UK

Loving the imaginary in the bottom right pic - family leaving their substantial home counties house, Dad, the CEO of Megabank getting into his yellow XJ-S and mum taking the kids to their reassuringly expensive private school in the new Dacia Denem - ooookaaaayyyyyy....

I'm not sure what this 2 door Fiat Strada/Ritmo is, or whether it's real or photoshopped, but the image has a Pistonheads tag on it. Any ideas?

I'm trying to imagine how the meeting went when they worked out the language to be used:

"Right Kev, we need to put a brochure together for the funny Datsun thing?"

"Datsun, Dave?"

"Sorry Kev, Day-ceeaa? Dakiya?"

"I think it's pronounced Dach-ah"

"Whatever, we need to put a tagline at the top and so far I've got "The very _____ Denim"

"What about Spacious?"

"Nah"

"Economical"?

"No"

"Well Equipped?"

"God no!"

"Pretty?"

"Have you seen it?"

"Fair Point"

"I've got it!"

"What"

"The very acceptable Denim"

"Good enough. Pub?"
