Awesome - we get a story about a 600bhp super saloon, made just a handful of years ago, that can seat 5 adults, has rear wheel drive and a manual gearbox all for the price of a new Golf, at a time when all others similar are AWD and auto, and all we can discuss is the quality of the fking leather.

Yes they've all rather missed the point, and as I said in my last post, they're actually quite nice inside hehe

Yeah, I have had a rather comfortable 73K miles in my 800+ BHP 2014 GTS smile Had fun driving it down to Portugal the first summer I had it and never felt strained at all smile Can't really believe I have had it for 6 years now!

This car has been for sale at least 12 months.

It has been struggling to shift at that price.
Seems ages ago first reading this article.

Looks like it’s still for sale.

Now advertised at £39,990, it was £42,500 in the article.

No takers ?

What's that? A car that hasn't appreciated in the last 12 months?? Rare indeed...

I was looking at these before settling on a 2019 Camaro. I know they are as rare as hens teeth but I'm surprised people are asking the prices they are for the GTS cars. I don't think they are £15-20k better than the older VXR8s. I'd imagine if the ones that pop up for sale were close to £30k they would be snapped up.

V8 VXR used to be on the orange press car. It can't be that if one private owner?

It's now on a green one.

Looks like V8 VXR has been on several different VXR8s, as has R11 VXR, so highly possible those plates have been something to do with Vauxhall themselves.

It's on a Ford Focus.

I bet he's no idea that someone would pay to buy his plate.

6th gen Camaro is brilliant, but sadly too compromised for anyone that needs proper rear seat space.

These late GTS cars do look pricey on the face of it, but they were pricey new, and what real alternatives are there ? The one in this article is supposed to be 630bhp - you could argue that's not too far away from Hellcat power, and you won't get one of those, either Charger or Challenger, for £40k.

Vauxhall probably shot themselves in the foot by dropping the prices to £25k for new ones in '08 / '09 to clear out all those earlier cars that were lying around in stock. The VXR8 was then special order only - Vauxhall didn't want to get stuck with a load lying around like they had previously. They looked really expensive going forwards from there, I seem to remember 2010 / 2011 they were well over £50k if you wanted to order a new one.

This one's recently dropped in price from £37995 to £34995. Obviously not a great seller at the moment.

There's nothing else 4 door V8 manual with similar power for the money.

Oooh, another Blue one! Have not actually seen any pictures of other blue ones in the country.

Regarding your other comment on the 50k+ price tag, that was 2014 for this model. M5 power and size for M3 money. Currently the M3's are sub 30k and the M5's even lower.

Must say those M cars look like value now, especially compared to the huge prices they were new. No manual M5 though, and no V8 in the M3 .

It does amuse that when new people would have looked at you askance were you to choose this over the equivalent M - now it's actually wirth more money than those same M's. Who was the mug?

VXR8's in general have depreciated very slowly, the GTS is a good case in point although the colour of this one isn't the greatest, the car itself is a great the engine is a beast & the chassis is good too.

The only letdown is the gearbox which is a bit agricultural as for the infotainment that can be upgraded for around £500 to have all the essentials.
