It was likely a cat - something accident repaired with little life or value left in it.
However it was for sale if you wanted it why not buy it.
You could argue buying the scrapper versions of a certain model and take them off the market might push up the value of your good example plus you’ll have used parts too out on your car or sell to other owners.
Oh dam didn’t think of that, I will just go out and buy all the cars I have great memories of in case top gear writes them off. Knob. However it was for sale if you wanted it why not buy it.

Mk1 Focus RS has the Tickford build (like RS 500) and the WRC dimensions. Didn’t really have much to do with actual rally car but it was limited, only available in imperial blue, had a trick ATB which was special at the time and it’s an older ford with an RS badge. How can it not make money?! Also it was good! Very good! The 5 pot replacement has not got any tenuous link to competition. I see these as similar to series 1 and series 2 RS Turbo. The series 1 was built to touring car dimensions. The series 2 not so much. Series 1’s are very valuable. I’d imagine the Mk1 Focus would be the same.

Both cars have probably made most of their money now. I reckon you'll be waiting quite a long time for significant increases on anything that's had normal use. As for the Escort RS turbos, aside from the tie bars, they were mostly the same mechanically. Unlike the Focus RS 1&2.WonkeyDonkey said:
I love how no one ever posts a Z4 from front on.... It's a shame that the front end is so bland looking when the rest of it is stunning.
Whilst it’s a classic in profile and the rear is stunning, I think the front is fairly well resolved too. A gratuitous opportunity to post pictures of mine:fantheman80 said:

The Focus WRC had little in common with the FWD RS road car .
I see topgear have wrote a mk1 rs off for the sake of entertainment. Arrogant c@#ts However it was for sale if you wanted it why not buy it.

How come you didn’t call the other poster who replied to you saying the same him a knob?
Genuinely the other comments didn’t load, I only had yours. I will correct it...”knobs”No, apologies for the name calling, and I get all the arguments of it’s their car do what they want, blah de blah, but for the sake of entertainment saddens me a rare car is made rarer for a few giggles. I had one so it’s more personal, but would be the same for anything rare.

Nissan GT-R doesn’t get a mention?
Aha, tell me this doesn't have £30k Future Classic written all over it:https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10673263
£26k, 70k miles, unmodified and still on its original 16" wheels
Probably worth PH getting in touch to run a feature on, being so rare to find unmodified.
R35s seem to start at £32k, really unsure where these will go in the next decade personally. Obviously they've done well so far, anyone who picked one up at £55k in 2009 can only be delighted to retain over half the value after a decade.
I suspect that the Honda S2000 has a bit more to gain. Hondas tend to have a dedicated following, which is good for values, and that engine stands as the high watermark for naturally aspirated high revs and specific output (alongside the Ferrari 458).
£14k, 60k miles https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10640373

That is exactly how I saw my Z4M too. I loved it from the side and the rear, but the front did nothing for me. I wouldn't say it was ugly, but there was just something about it that just didn't look right to my eyes. Argleton said:

Er..have you seen the latest one? That's even worse, both the lowly models and what they're simply calling a WRX nowadays.Subaru sold fewer new cars than Bentley this year probably explains that.
I must admit a Z4M or a Nissan R32 would be right up my street now, despite my advancing years....😜
