I find that if you aren’t looking for attention in the first place, you won’t be bothered by it.

Why delete the post? Too much attention?

Unlikely the case with a McLaren, I found people taking photos of my Cayman when it had been parked up at the supermarket more than once. Wasn't a problem, but I wouldn't fancy being tailed by idiots if I was in a £100k plus supercar..

You admit you love the attention... Gotta take the 'good' attention with the bad.
Laugh if off, you own a McLaren ffs.

I get it in the 360.

Driving up the a74 or the A90 and people orbit around me filming etc .

Or you got those people who take their phone out and try and take a sly photo but then their flash goes off lol.

Buy a flashy car, expect nothing else. In fact own a flash car and your driving better be impeccable.

I think this is possibly an issue for anyone, in a car which is` perceived' to be quick or unusual (even if it isn't) When out in such a car, it is quite noticeable how many seem to want to get so close to the rear of your car, they might as well climb in beside you.
Whether they do that, to try to take a picture, or are trying to goad the person in the car in front to give it the beans is arguable, but it can be quite annoying, especially as getting the rear end repaired after a coming together can be time consuming and expensive even when it is the tailgaters insurance which is picking up the tab.

To admire it closely of course. What else would you do to a car that gets driven at 70+ regularly down the 30 road your kids have to cross a few times a day?

I think some love it, go to Alderley Edge, loads of car spotters and the same cars driving up and down making a racket, bright yellow 911 RS something or other earlier popping and banging.

A lot of people know about cars nowadays via Top Gear etc and love to see the interesting stuff, though they shouldnt annoy the drivers.
Can’t go to Waitrose without getting papped. It’s a hard life.

Don’t worry OP, the McLaren will be broken down soon and you won’t get much attention pootling about in the hire car smile

That's the problem with fame / attention - you can't just have the good bits.

I can relate; I get this all the time in my Peugeot. I can only assume it's jealousy.

Get out at first light, no one around to bother you, no tts in Honda Jazz's or bellends up your arse. Back in the garage at breakfast time and get back in the 'normal' car. No-one the wiser and you've had a load of fun on empty roads.

I have a restored classic Alfa, in fast road spec.

I get a lot of positive attention, and if I'm honest, I enjoy it.

I get the same with mine. The Freelander 2 that is, people are generally quite amazed to see one moving under its own power.

which it isn’t at the moment as I split a turbo pipe on Friday and it is stripped outside the house waiting on a part due tomorrow

I know some people like McLarens but surely they don't like them that much that they'd do this to the owner..?!
