I retained the plate off my old e36. R34 LHO (real ho). Was tempted to put it on the missus's car. Hardly a great plate but it only cost £80 to put it on retention.
I saw a Nissan Qashqai today with the plate E60. Just checked it online and it’s a 2014 with 90k miles. I think there is a thread about plates that must be worth 10x the value of the car they are on. I bet many a 5 series owner would like that plate - I wonder where they got it from and how much they paid, they are always old duffers that look like they have zero interest in cars! greysquirrel said:

Perhaps they have an interest in cherished numbers and not cars?In many cases, plates get passed through families or car to car by people for decades.
