Accelerator instead of brake?

Been done many times before. You press the accelerator thinking it’s the brake, car moves and you press the ‘brake’ harder and thus carnage ensues.
I wonder how difficult it could be for the manufacturers to develop a system whereby an impact would cut the throttle out automatically via sensors as a safety feature.

I guess the Audi driver thought he had one of these.

What kind of tank is that? Glorious looking thing.
Leopard 2.
Looks more like a MK1 I think.

That's the trouble with trying to park your flash car away from the rest in the car park, it gives them more of a run up!

Surely the growth of EVs is going to make this a more regular occurrence as Doris and Neville go out in their little runabout that does 0 - collision in 3.2 seconds

Going by the exhaust pipe of the Audi I'm not sure a runaway EV was the cause of this crash.

This must win the car park ding thread.
Definitely! The next time some muppet dings my door in the Sainsbury’s carpark I’ll take out this photo to calm me down.

To be fair a Q7 does clearly fit supermarket car park spaces better using that technique

The McLaren driver did some edge of the bay parking and end of the line but still got hit. Should have parked at the far end of the car park...

Typical Q8 type buyer. Probably mistook the McLaren for a shoe and attempted to drive over the top while chatting to another orange faced WAG.
