20 years ago someone drove one of these head on into my father, who was driving a Citroen Xantia.. Both cars were write offs; my father (in his 70s at the time and contrary to some assumptions, the completely innoicent victim of the other driver's error) got out and walked away unhurt. The occupants of the Fiat were not walking anywhere. Ever again.
So I wouldn't touch a Seicento. I know it's irrational- I have driven Minis which are no doubt no safer, but there it is.
OMG.

I had a very similar experience to your Dad with similar results.
Disgraceful from a mainstream maker IMHO.
Pah! This is a 2016 Fiesta ST that did nothing more than roll into a field. Admittedly at a fair lick but it didn't physically hit anything.

Looks like it's actually in two pieces. Are you sure that 'just' rolled in a field, or was it then mangled by a Caterpillar D9 pulling a scraper?

I had a 127 RallyeSport as my first car. I was young and poor and through very rose-tinted lenses it was fun. But mainly it was quite st compared to the Fiestas, Escorts, Novas and other stuff my mates were bowling around in.

25 years on I just don’t get why someone would choose to lay out £1300 on this when there are bigger, faster, safer alternatives out there. Probably a sign of my age and preferences but there is a retirement-spec S-Type at Shed money In the classifieds which I thought would make a much better choice!

A 127 sport? I dont recall a rally sport model? Mate had a bright orange 127 sport, an early one, then a later facelift 1300 sport version. I really liked my 127, it was only a 1050cl, but was a great wee car to thrash everywhere all the time!!
Also had a 127 Sport, a79 T reg 1050cc version, bright orange with orange piped seats. It used to go quite well if red lined through the gears. The inevitable rot finished it off though..
That was like my mates first one, then he had the kinda droop snoot(is!) 1300 sport or gt can never remember the damn name. Both huge fun. My wee 1050 was an A plate I think, did they make them that late?, and was a really good wee car. I've had a load of fiats and they have all been good as gold!

1050 was the Sport, the 1300 was the 1300GT. Seems it would have overlapped with the Uno:

I remember being an apprentice and having to bleed the brakes on one of the cinquecento sportings. I could feel the flex in the body while pumping the brake pedal with it on the ramp! I also remember being taken to a pub by a girl who had a one of these in yellow. I remember saying something about sexy women in yellow fiats. She might have been sexy and the car might have had metal Micks signature on the back but I doubt it’s a sensible shed! I’d rather last weeks to be blunt shed!

I had one before I was a 'pistonhead', and I find it odd that one made it onto pistonheads.

If anyone wants to buy one, go ahead. But they are worth like £400 not the £1400 being advertised, and good luck finding a buyer when bored with it!
I delayed and “missed” a positano yellow one, just for a plaything, Mangoletsi service history 55k showing, totally unmolested. It had lingered at the dealers. That one went for £500.

Still have one. Not in daily use but a great fun little thing.

Had a Schumacher in 2002 & loved it. Despite having had loads of more powerful cars over the years, kept a look out & this Mint Abarth version with 23k miles came up 4 years ago.

Not in any way quick but a right laugh to drive & thrash.

Sits alongside my Abarth 595 Competizione 180 daily, my 1990 Alfa Spider, our sensible 2020 RAV4 & my wife’s V6 TT fun car.

Mine was dark orange / red with black interior. Tinworm killed it too; I took it to a Fiat dealer for the MOT naively hoping they would be sympathetic. About half an hour later I got invited out of the waiting room into the testing area to see the chunks of rotten metal dropping off underneath the car every time the tester went near it with his toffee hammer...

Smart move, keep a toyota for the day when all the others won't start wink

Not sure about putting a bag of coal in that passenger 'bin' but a reckon a one litre bag of compost or some sort of large snack would fall into that recess perfectly.

Very nice. Mine's a yellow Schumacher.

I feel I should recognise that road, but it wasn't where I thought it was!

I guess it's somewhere around the Bwlch?

The roof actually rotted out on mine, namely the lip above the tailgate causing the boot to fill with water which in turn rotted the rear arches/suspension turrets out. I'd already had the floor patched numerous times and even fitted a pair of new old stock doors as the originals were beyond repair. Mechanically it was pretty bullet proof but it wasn't worth throwing any more sheets of welding steel at it..

I had a fiat 132 2 litre twink and it had pull out plastic shades for the (side?) windows. Can you see where I'm going with this. You pulled them out of the headlining and got load of rust over you every time!!

Hmmm. A friend of mine has a Schumacher for sale (in fact he has me advertising it for him).

It is, sorry, was a red one. Its faded beyond redemption now. Seems a great driving car.

It piques my interest a little but the cost of a full respray, alloy wheel refurb and likely a couple of other bits would put it way beyond its worth.

It'll need to go to an enthusiast i think.

I had a Cinquecento, one of the most fun cars I’ve owned! I did the 1.2 Punto engine swap which was only meant to take it up to 60bhp. But it felt much quicker than that, which was confirmed when I clocked a gps indicated 115mph!! Not quite sure how it was that unfeasibly quick!

I put a P75 cam and bigger throttle body into a Cinq.

My Sei has the throttle body mod., and I'm looking for a P75 cam next.

With a filter, exhaust and P75 cam, the 1.1 should put out over 70bhp, I never knew what my Cinq. put out, but it was much quicker than a standard car.
