Why do people think the e-type is one of the best looking cars. Ask anyone aged 40 and below and most will tell you how st an e-type looks. Most if not all classic cars look st.
laugh

In 30 years time, when some young sprog is telling you a 458, McLaren or whatever looks st 'cos you're old, and the latest bland ev eco wonder car made by Hong Song Fuey is the greatest and most wonderful looking thing ever made.

Last I looked there wasn't an age limit to posting on here, so stop frothing at the mouth or go and see a vet.

I think that age does play a part in the car designs that people like. I realise that this isnt always the case before someone tells me that they are only 33 yet like Model T Fords!

LOL. How very true. Just for the record. I'm under 40 and would sell many organs to have an E-Type.

Maybe a person has to live through at least a couple of design-industry cycles (so there can be older cars that you once knew as new cars) before you can start to differentiate between what’s new & on-trend and what has its own aesthetic merit. I definitely had that mental blind-spot until my late-20s; at that point your “bedroom wall cars” are 15 years old and if you once thought that car looked cool, why not reconsider others?

Talking to niece and nephew (12 & 14 years, I think) they have a shockingly binary new=good, old=rubbish view on just about everything – and there’s nothing you could do to talk them out of it!

But I still don't like E-Types - bulbous wings, upright windscreen, meh.

I can’t think of ANY Ferrari that I would say is ugly - I think they’re all quite wonderful.

I will confess to being even older than the E-Type but remain largely indifferent to its allure . The lights , hips and rear window on the fixed head coupe are very sexy but the narrow track undermines the effect , if not as much the absurdly priapic bonnet and the excessively ...err.... erect screen .

Of that era the early 911 just keeps on looking better and better (as does the Elan ) and despite Enzo's oft quoted love of the E -Type' style , his own 275 GTB was far more attractive , as were the Lusso and 250 SWB , as well as the 250GTO and my favourite 330LMB .

TBH , if the E -Type were in human form , it'd be Terry Thomas . Ding , and , indeed , Dong

I can’t say that’s ugly, it’s a somewhat generic formula x (no idea what) car, designed for a specific purpose and not ugly (to me anyways)

2012 F1 car. It's the step on the nose that looks particularly weird.

Mines a very early 3.8 flat floor, original paint, 33k miles.
Perfect mechanical condition.
Can confirm though its pretty st to drive in every aspect. Brakes/steering /suspension ect are all very mediocre. The 150 max is a long in the tooth myth, on a good day it'll just top 135..

I suppose it maybe excused as it was not factory designed or built..But it does go well none the less.

And ETA that having heard this very car on many occasions, you'd forgive it most things for having such a glorious voice . Here it is , in the pits at Silverstone

Sd1 was heavily influenced by the Daytona, I loved mine, a 3500se auto in immaculate condition!

Love the F8 Tributo. Test drove one at the beginning on the month. It’s very colour sensitive in my opinion. I liked the blue one I had.

Now THAT is a thing of beauty cloud9
