I wish someone would reach out to the media/editing firm that pulled this top speed run video together and ask them if they dossed it up AND then deleted the raw footage of such a memorable occasion. How come they haven't put their hand up?

A little bit of synch issues between say sound and picture is some sort of excusable but completely deleting ALL the original footage and somehow only using the run that was 223mph rather than 331mph is worthy of putting your hand up and owning up.

Strangely they are silent.

How quickly can someone create a fake production company? I doubt one exists otherwise why would they hire Buddy to do the filming and editing for the documentary, they're doing this all in house just like everything else.

The production company is Buddy Wyrick, he was going to launch some crappy app off the back of it

His app will make your footage of speed runs 1.5x faster wobble

And delete the old footage whilst blurring out important information.

Who actually blurred the speedo out?

Incorrect according to Buddy himself he had nothing to do with the onboard footage. He is making the documentary

Even if the car runs 300mph it will go down in in history as a bit of a joke.

This is what makes me think that Buddy and Jerod planned to fake the world record together. Buddy's been HEAVILY promoting his app on the back of all the footage. Like the Top Gear video has 5m+ views...

I think Jerod has a stake in the app too.

Buddy / Driven Studios / Driven Plus - it's his company. He tried to distance himself from SSC four days before Jerod announced the rerun. This to me makes him look guilty - he was trying to do some damage control.

He claims he was never paid by SSC, even though he had to hire a several film production staff to 'document' the event - I mean how do you do that when you're 'unpaid'. But he plastered his new app all over the footage too so he's getting exposure all off the back of a fake record.

And risk it taking off like an aeroplane on a conveyor belt?

Don't forget hiring the filming helicopter plus fighter jet!

That's not what upset them, have you watched the vids, at all?
I think that's a common theme with hazmat. He's definitely not the brightest, but he never actually watches/reads up on the topic at hand. That combined with his unfounded hatred of YouTubers makes him come across particularly nasty. Perhaps a failed YouTuber himself?

Regardless, I think it's clear that SSC have lied through their teeth, with this re run just a means to get the media off their back for a while. I for one am glad for Shmee, Misha, Robert et Al releasing videos and bringing this to light.

There is a very simple solution for SSC:

Provide a statement from the supplier of the different final drive, this would at least validate the fact that the car could achieve those speeds given the power and the gearing.

Without that, I am calling them out as liars, I know that is quite a strong statement, but they have done nothing to answer all the questions and they are still claiming they did it.

Remember they tried to involve Dewetron saying they had validated the data, which was also a lie, which they have not apologised for.

And for those people who are saying it doesn't matter, it does! Remember VW lied and when they were found out it cost them (£25 billion!). In the corporate world there are consequences for lying it cannot and should not be tolerated. Claiming a top speed is no different to claiming how good the brakes are. There are consequences if you lie...

I should have claimed this years ago in my TVR Cerbera (2007 ish?), obviously validated by the car in front which I was just catching up...

biggrin

Radar detector just started counting up slowly for some reason

I remember once when the speedo needle in my Alfa pegged itself at 180 mph plus while I was sat at a set of traffic lights. Should've taken a photo as that's got to be a record for a 2 litre N/A four door saloon.

I am with you on this. Where is the supplier of the updated final drive and gear set? The same way Robert Mitchell walks through his list of points and comments on each, Shelby should do the same. Here was what people were worried about with a response to each point individually. Even if a good few could be cleared up at least it would show it was MAYBE just sort of equipment failure on the GPS. Otherwise it just stinks.
