Can I drive my car before a colour change on v5c comes back?

I have just been on the DVLA website reading about car colour changes. What I cannot find out is whether I can I drive my car before a colour change on V5C comes back from the DVLA?

Is anyone able to assist in answering this question?

Hi all,

Thank you for your replies. I have spoken to the DVLA this morning and they have confirmed that I am able to drive the car before the colour change comes back on the V5C. I was informed that while it is not a requirement it may be good to send an image of the car with the new colour and stating on a letter the change to be made is a colour change. Just for information, there is no charge for making a colour change.
