Still looks funny though
Does it?

I like a joke and some fairly risque and non pc ones too but I really dont see anything funny in that photo whatsoever.

What looks funny about it?
The image looks funny.
I'll have to politely disagree, its just a big bloke in sports gear on a bike.

Bet you wouldn't have told Geoff Capes he looked 'funny' in Lycra when he was doing sporting activities.

Quoting this in case you re-read and decide to delete.

What makes you a 'proper' cyclist then?
I'm not going to delete that don't worry.

read more into my comment.

the type of person who goes "I cycle too but the cyclists should get off the road and stop blocking me, effin lycra clad who do they think they are, I cycle too btw."

there's cycling casually, do it in jeans etc 1-5miles in that at a slow pace and you'll be nice and comfortable.

try doing jeans etc on a road bike for 2-3 hours and tell me how it feels.

like genuinely, who the hell cares what people dress like biggrin

such a ridiculous thing to pick on.

I know...I don't need permission

The same way I don't need permission to cycle two abreast

I don't think anyone doubted that.

You were being asked why you thought it was funny though, and you couldn't give an answer.

Is it just the juxtaposition of a heavier bloke on a bike? Is it that simple for you?

Which was exactly my point. Hypocrisy regarding whining about "being held up" for thirty seconds at a time by bicycle riders on non-motorway roads, while accepting being "caught in traffic" on a motorway where there are no cyclists.

Beyond that, I'm stumped. I can explain it to you, but I'm afraid I can't understand it for you...
I can’t see any hypocrisy.....drivers were getting fed up being delayed by other cars on the motorway and drivers get fed up being held up by cyclists on other roads. In both cases drivers get fed up because other people are inconsiderate.

How much time each week do you spend getting 'held up by cyclists'? I'm betting it's pretty much zero

Is that the same excuse for some cyclists running red lights?

...or drink drivers?

How many other stupid off topic things can you say in one thread, you're doing well so far? Have you had an irrational fear of cyclists for some time now or is this a new thing for you?

Not sure why some do that, would need to ask them personally.

I think as legally, its easier to get away with it not having a registration plate, and a bike is smaller and narrower.

Its not exactly unique to cyclist though, I don't run red lights myself as if I did it would probably end in tears and I wouldn't feel justified in being all self righteous about it either, and I particularly enjoy that aspect biggrin

Most motorists who moan about it don't do so as they are staunch upholders of truth, justice and the Highway code, more like they don't like the fact cyclists can typically get away with it and they cant and have to wait despite nothing being around for miles. Bit like the "They don't pay income tax", is it genuine concern about government tax revenue and its impact on services or the fact they cant get their nose in the trough as well because they are PAYE'd to death?

All vehicles are ‘traffic’. No-one gets a special pass unless they’re running blue lights.

Shared resources mean sometimes being held up. Unlucky.

Sick of arrogant, scumbag cyclists not moving over to let cars overtake.

Bane of Britain.
Learn how to drive then, you absolute melt.
How do you overtake two cyclists taking up the whole width of a narrow country lane? Run them over...?

Pull your head out of your arse. Muppet.
If you can't overtake two cyclists because the road is so narrow, you probably can't overtake one.

The cyclist should, and in the vast vast majority of circumstances will, help you past. If not, pretend it's a tractor and sit behind it as you would. If life can't be subject to a minute or two delay, you are living life wrong.

Plenty of lycra clad with white plastic Oakley glasses bellends through our village on a Sunday. They seem to think they're doing the Tour de France. Nothing at all wrong with the genuine ones who do it for commuting but the multi coloured swop shop ones dressed like tts two abreast who refuse to use the purpose built cycle path I've little time for. Want to keep fit, get an exercise bike..
