Cycling two abreast....agree or not?

Generally, citing the weight aspect is to piss on someones bonfire as its a way to try and belittle them or maybe put them off, generally its a reflection of some insecurity or guilt on the part of whoever is saying it as the fact someone else is doing something reminds them that they arent.
We were on a pretty long ride as part of a charity thing, few years back now, my mate who is, by his own admission pretty big was holding his own, doing better than me as I got cramp after a minor misunderstanding at a junction some toothless scratter in an old shed gave him some stick over his weight "You shouldn't be on that, you are too fat" , he got it back, with interest
I am around sixteen stone, am fifty next week and work in IT, but I can ride 50 miles without feeling it, can climb hills out of the saddle and really enjoy it, spent over a grand on a Smart Trainer, so will drop a couple of stone and get down to my 14 stone ideal (for me) weight.
I wear Lycra as its comfy, doesn't fall down and so motorists can view my magnificent arse and ladies can check out my junk (its cold out, alright...), you get to wear Budgie Smuglers in public, oh yeah
people shout at all sorts and I imagine its for same reasons you mention above. I've been lifting weights (naturally) the past 20 years and when I go for runs in the summer wearing a vest (and shorts ) I get the odd bloke, usually a van with workmen or men hunched over a wheel shouting stuff at me from time to time. Funny enough never get that sort of thing down the beach. Can only imagine that being in good shape triggers something in them about themselves.

Does it?I like a joke and some fairly risque and non pc ones too but I really dont see anything funny in that photo whatsoever.

The only amusing thing is the much repeated way you are avoiding the question??

You are more than welcome to disagree
I don't think anyone doubted that. You were being asked why you thought it was funny though, and you couldn't give an answer.
Is it just the juxtaposition of a heavier bloke on a bike? Is it that simple for you?

tbh a bit of fat ridiculing would probably prevent the growing problem of overweight people in the west (which is going to put a lot of strain on health services).
people have ups and downs in life and some address it, but there are plenty of lazy, greedy f***ers with low self control too. can say a bit about their character.
needs more stigma imo to stop the problem growing even larger (excuse the pun). it's shouldn;t be acceptable, its unhealthy and others have to pick up the bill down the line.

Pretty sure I remember seeing you post about your road bike and turbo set up - do you look like you have AIDS?
No, I am 82kg at 12-14% bf and mix weights in with my workouts too. I avoided weights for a while and started to look a little bit 'Ares aids man-like' so added it in again fastraxx said:

Poor taste aside, how do you possibly draw that parallel??
Professional/serious amateur runners and cyclists look like twigs and IMHO is a terrible look - not a positive to be 62kg man. My BMI (as generic as it may be, it's a useful general indicator) is ideal, right in the green area.
Whats 'not positive' about that? And was the 'positive' a cheeky little HIV/AIDS jibe?

Well done. How many pull ups/press ups can do you do in one go?My BMI (as generic as it may be, it's a useful general indicator) is ideal, right in the green area.

I'm nearly 50yr, 62kg, 5% body fat. I love cycling with 14-16 stone riders....
