Still looks funny though
Does it?

I like a joke and some fairly risque and non pc ones too but I really dont see anything funny in that photo whatsoever.

What looks funny about it?
The image looks funny.
Are you seeing a reflection in error?
Nope
So what is funny in that picture?
All of it.
Why is it funny/what makes it funny?

The only amusing thing is the much repeated way you are avoiding the question??
I find it funny to look at.
And yet you still can't say why. Still avoid the question.
Its a funny picture

Pretty sure I remember seeing you post about your road bike and turbo set up - do you look like you have AIDS?

wink
No, I am 82kg at 12-14% bf and mix weights in with my workouts too. I avoided weights for a while and started to look a little bit 'Ares aids man-like' so added it in again smile
haha good work adding resistance training back in. long distance runner/cyclist isn't a good look for most men.

nothing wrong with doing those things of course.

That's exactly my point. I have been doing it for a while after only doing running and cycling and getting close to 70kg. Since getting to around 80kg I have significantly increased upperbody strength so pull ups and press ups has increased along with it. If people are happy with twig arms and chests, fine as it makes you quick at running/cycling uphills but id rather lose some speed on the hills to avoid looking like im starving to death.

Professional/serious amateur runners and cyclists look like twigs and IMHO is a terrible look - not a positive to be 62kg man.
Many pro cyclists are quite bulky ; there is more to cycling than climbers and TDF GC type. You get rouleurs, sprinters etc...And then you get track cyclists. And on the mtb side you get all shapes too, particularly in DH and Enduro.

Couldn't agree more, if you love running, cycling for hours fair enough, but a lot of people seem to default to running if trying to lose weight.

Weight on scale may not go down quickly as youre building muscle from weights and diet control, but you'll look much better for it and with the bonus of being more attractive to women.

mainy pro cyclists are using supplements though aren;t they, along with lifting some weights.

Thanks for making the thread amusing again. I do admire your honesty in revealing your insecurities!

Haha the old cliche about people into weights being insecure.

Must have a small dick as well.

You're welcome. Accusing them of being insecurities sounds like someone fat or someone with twig arms would say.

Wrong!
Actually prefer cycling through muddy forests rather on the road ( or cycle path if available) .

So you’re not insecure about your body shape? You weight train to avoid the body shape that cycling gives you, rather than to get stronger. I’ve always related that behaviour to an insecurity. Shaming others for their body shape too.

No, I am quite happy with how I look but I don't obsess over it and I am able to eat junk/drink when I feel like it.

Your second sentence - no, I enjoy feeling stronger too. I like to see the improvements and progress and anyone who does weights will notice massive improvements, fairly quickly, depending on body type. The 'shaming' is tongue in cheek, not serious. If the guy on here is big enough to boast about being 63kg and 5%bf then he is also able to accept a bit of a piss-take, no? Well done to him, clearly very fit on a bike, id imagine but it's very light for a man and most likely, the upper body of a 10 year old boy.

5% body fat? always dubious about fat % claims that low and accuracy of tests. particularly if interested in performance. seems unsustainable without becoming ill of feeling tired all the time after a while.

And?

The difference being they don’t go to the gym to look at themselves in the mirror rofl

All sizes and shapes on bikes, and it’s only judgement tts who have to comment, just not very nice people. As for performance, I’d rather cycle next to a fat bloke than someone who thinks it’s a bit of ‘fun’ to compare an AIDS sufferer with a cyclist. Sounds like a total bell.

The thread seems to have moved on from riding two abreast.
There is the PH pedal power forum for discussing the benefits of cycling and the PH health matters forum for discussing relative body fat percentages.
