Given that a Fiesta ST3 is £25k for a standard car. I think £30k for this bespoke and limited GR4 with 4WD, 30% more power and many unique parts and tuning is a relative bargain.
I bet that over life of ownership this GR4 will be cheaper than a Fiesta ST owing to lower depreciation.

I suspect this is going to be something that no-one actually buys so secondhand versions will command good money, as per the Lexus ISF.
Yes, Dealer network will have it for next 5yrs so prices will be kept v strong. More I look the more I like great car to bring out with all the constant EV hyperbole.Love it!
Would definitely have one if I didn't have a much more practical RS in the garage already (and definitely don't have the cash to swap). I don't think my kids would like the back seats in this.
I think the GR-4 will sell in small volumes (to enthusiasts rather than the PCP brigade), so prices will stay high - so you're best buying new.
The added bonus is that most people won't know what it is either.

The good is that it will give more smiles per mile than most...the bad <<>?...when you stop at the traffic lights and look at the glass shop it will look like your driving your Mams Yaris ...oh and the Cost
we all love the Purity and feel and directness of these cars that deliver "real world speed thrills" but for me its not a looker and 3 Pot engine wont do it for most Petrol heads....am i wrong>>?

Well done Toyota for making a proper drivers car and not just another mundane looking fast hatch.
These will be niche sales so values will stay sky high. And in 10-15years will probably start to climb and will end up being worth more than the new price by the time the US can import them.
I bet its amazingly fun to drive and being Toyota will be bomb proof.

Massive split decision in my mind about this car.
- Loving that a manufacturer has once again made a proper 'rally inspired' road car.
- Analogue dash (mostly) is a pleasant surprise in this day and age.
- The power/torque figures aren't intergalatic, they are at levels which the driver can use 80-100% of, most of the time.
- Not loving the looks. If only they had followed the same style from front to rear. Instead you have a rounded flared arch and a square/rectangular flared arch, that conspire to make the car look ungainly.
- Could do without the Ipad glued to the dash (in years to come, when the LCD screen fails and you lose access to cars complete infotainment system, they will lose their appeal big time)
- Cost

What a wonderful wee beastie The waiting list will be long for this one.
Excellent hands-on vid test by Jonny Smith, with much splendid geekery and tech insight:

Interesting note about the 'oversized' front air intake - it's for optimum engine cooling. Obvious, you might think. Yet, it's a concept that clearly never occurred to the designers of the current Civic Type-R
