That's good news.

And some other good news, I've just received the copy I was missing from the last collection.

Modern Classics was a quality mag that I enjoyed ... I haven't signed up for anything else so i'll watch this space.

Went to resubscribe to this the other day not realising it had gone under. It doesn't need a revamp. Just bring it back!

Agreed.

I think it was spot on.

Would love it to come back, but no point until Covid is over.... unless it’s digital only.

Getting a decent circulation on a digital only format would be challenging though.

I saw this, looks like good news. thumbup

I thought Strada magazine was going to fill the space Modern Classics left. At face value it feels like there'll be two similar-ish magazines aiming for the same market sector that couldn't sustain one, but I'm sure they've thought harder about it than I have. I hope so. smile

That's what I thought, I'm not sure there is space in the market for two like that. I quite liked what I saw of strada with a bit more than just the cars.

I guess we will just have to wait and see.

It would be crazy to start again with a different name.

Strada would have to advertise, and make people aware of it's existence. Costs time, and money.

Modern classics is already known, and loved. The customers are already there. Just a quick email to all the previous subscribers and you've instantly got your revenue coming in.

I guess it depends who own the rights for modern classic and also the subscriber list, it didnt sound like bauer sold it?

Also strada is a thing now by the looks of its website.

They're separate publications.

MC is/was a monthly. Strada is planned as a quarterly. I exchange messages with Nathan Chadwick who made it clear Strada wasn't going to be Modern Classics Mk2.

I wish them both luck of course but I wont be subscribing to both, as I'm sure many people wouldn't.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Strada was being set up by a former "Modern classics" person.

It'd be best for them to combine their efforts I'd have thought.

Fair enough, thanks for that, im not sure that there is space in the market for two, I hope there is though! I do miss the magazine car isnt a substitute for my subscription

I completely agree. If I wanted to subscribe to Car I would have done so.

Car primarily focuses on new cars and I'm not interested in them.

Love to see it back, perhaps with a slightly higher price and better quality paper, make it a modern day Supercar Classics but for modern and more affordable stuff

It sounded like a quick decision taken under a tight squeeze.

Was probably a better thing than sending us Cross Stitch Monthly or simply not getting our money back!
