I've been humming and harring over getting a car for a while, I've always been approved for a personal loan for the car.
Today after seeing a car I could potentially like to buy, the online system rejected me despite nothing having changed.
I'm wondering if this is banks tightening their belts.

I've been keeping an eye on SQ5's, they seem to be taking a beating on AT
on the 20th Jan 2022 I saved a screen shot and the cheapest was £19,995 for sub 100k miles, today there are a few knocking about at £15k to £16k and £17's with change is where the market is for a sub 100k one, so a £3k drop at least in a few months.

It seems like a lot of people want to get an EV now, but it is getting virtually impossible to actually get hold of a new one.
Even MG have halted orders in the UK

Have to say, it is getting to the point of being a no brainer, the new Niro EV looks really good for £35K with a 300 mile range and 64.8KWH battery.
If I was in the market for a car in that price range there is no way I would go ICE, you are effectively buying a VHS in a world of DVD.
I cannot see how prices of second hand, big engine SUVs are going to go anywhere but massively down from this point on.

£35k is still alot, are you really going to get the average person out of say a basic BMW/Merc/Audi for a KIa when the price is the same? (EV vs ICE of course). I think until the EV prices come down a tad they won't appeal as much as they need to in order to fight off similar priced ICE cars.Even MG have halted orders in the UK

I just checked and the cheapest 3 series is a 320i which costs £37,805. Would I pick a new Kia Niro EV over one of those? Yes in a heart beat. One of the things I haven't really got my head round yet is the depreciation curve/running costs for an EV.
I am without a car at the moment, still in the want rather than need camp and used prices are keeping my hands in my pockets. Another option I have is to purchase/lease an EV through my LTD company. The one thing stopping me is that I literally don't need to go anywhere other than to the supermarket or to see friends/family at the weekend. Those jobs are being fulfilled by the wife's car.
To make an EV stack up financially, because of the higher buying cost I feel like you need to be doing a reasonable amount of mileage for the fuel savings to be apparent and offset the higher purchase price of the ICE equivalent. OK higher petrol prices are bridging that gap closer than it has been but doing more mileage in the car is obviously going to push up the lease/PCP price or make it depreciate more if you own it outright.
To be honest I just want to buy something fruity, enjoy the summer of nice drives and then sell it in the winter when I don't feel the need to be out and about more. High petrol prices and depreciation worries are stopping me from doing that though, it's a bit annoying really.

I assume it’s still worth list / over list?
Maybe retail but not trade - 14 months old, 20k miles , was offered £3k under list last week, perhaps this week that gap may be closer to £6k.It’s moreover the £3k shift in a couple of weeks.
