This was an important car for AM and they dropped the ball badly with the front. The rest of the car looks pretty good.

The new grille pictured doesn’t help matters. I wonder what the other 3 look like?
Have you seen the back!
The ducktail. I could forgive it one, but not the other. I'm thinking they looked at a tasteful initial concept and though. 'Perhaps its too tasteful. Almost bland. We might have to trowel some character on.'

What is the big deal with the original new Vantage front grille. I own a 19 plate Ultramarine Black car. I’ve actually had the internal surround wrapped in silver as I have the rear defuser. In the 12 months of ownership no adverse comments regarding the front from anyone. The back we’ll probably the most aggressive rear on the road. Especially when you boot it in track mode to over take. The alternative front end that AM offer and now Works too ( at £3k ) just would not interest me. For me if works offered a BHP and torque increase over stock they can have me as their first customer. This AMG engine brilliant as it is - can provide so much more. The stock car is more than capable of handling it. The e diff keeps you in total control especially if you know how to drive.!
In terms of looks the AM Vantage is wonderful. Perhaps if I was trying to find improvements maybe spring replacements to drop it a nominal 20mm. ( visual and handling ) The rear hatch is very heavy - as per my every day car 2008 SL63 AMG ( lucky git ) that has an electric opening option. Much easier for the girl friend when she is packing for a weekend away !
I have covered 6k miles in my Vantage to date. All I can say is that the overall package takes a lot of beating. I’ve said it before Gaydon getting to bed with AMG Mercedes back in 2013 is a marriage made in heaven - the perfect storm.
The front elevation visual aspect - get a life it’s fine.
