Some gimp on Twitter posted a picture of a union flag with the comment "I'm proud of my flag, why shouldn't I be?" He got very confused by my comment of "yeah it looks great in the corner of mine".

Anyhow, being French I guess your flag is white and can be raised up in seconds at the mere sight of anything German, car or otherwise?
(Joke btw I don’t know if you’re French and there were plenty of supremely brave French soldiers who laid down their lives during ww2 etc.)

Today. Approaching a standard single-lane roundabout with the aim of turning right, I put my right blinker on and slowed down. No "GIVE WAY TO THE ROIGHT!!!! DASH CAM!!!" manoeuvres.
There was a car coming from the left, that slowed and stopped, with the driver looking straight at me. Eye contact, good. Just as I drew level with his road, he pulled out and squeezed into the space between my car and the outer kerb. Having no idea of his intentions (he could have been aiming for one of the two "straight-on" options for him, one of which was my exit) I slammed on and honked. He also slammed on and, through his closed window was (presumably) shouting "sorry there buddy, I don't know what I was thinking, I'll be more careful in future. Maybe I can make you a coffee? V FOR VICTORY!" although he did look angry.
I moved off and finished my manoeuvre, he moved off after me and it turned out he was turning left. He had decided that just because the space between me and the outer kerb was wide enough for him to JUST fit, he'd do so alongside me instead of waiting for me to clear him. One of those "just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD" manoeuvres. Saved zero time, we were the only two cars anywhere near the roundabout.

For today's 'knob' award, i woudl like to nominate the lovely young lad in his black Volkswagen Scirocco that gave me my first ever taste of genuine road rage in my 49 years on the road, last Friday.
I was on the way to take my Marcos back to the dealer for its annual MOT and service, with my wife in her car behind me. We were on the way into Trowbridge and travelling along a road with a 40mph limit at 40mph. I subsequently found out that the moron in question had been sitting ridiculously close to my wife's rear bumper and then done a dangerous overtake before cutting in front of her, behind me. Well, I first became aware of him when I looked in my mirror approaching a roundabout and he was right behind me and apparently trying to drive into my boot.
After the roundabout, I slowed down because he was so close and waved at him to tell him to move back. Well, this elicited a few hand signals and, amusingly, some “small willy” hand gestures directed at me I initially assumed that these gestures were because of the Marcos but they appeared to just be symptoms of how he treats other road users generally. He then decided to overtake me on a bit of road with a central island and, I’m afraid I put my foot down briefly so he couldn’t get past me. And, yes, before any of you say it, I know in retrospect this was a silly thing to do and, of course it only enraged him further.
He then overtook me when he next could (on a corner this time!) and cut in front of me. Now fortunately, having read about this tactic on PH many times, I was expecting what happened next and sure enough, he hit his brakes, and slowed quickly to a complete stop, obviously hoping I’d run into the back of him. He then leaned out of his window gesturing back at me and I responded with some applause for him and some more hand signals that suggested that he was an ardent “self abuser” if you get my drift. All this time, my wife (who was fed up with the bad traffic we’d encountered so far and was having a menopausal hot flush, so was not in a good mood!) was leaning on her horn continually behind me!
He obviously didn’t know she was with me so he eventually got the message and roared off. She did later say that if he’d got out of his car then she would have done too and set about him with her handbag. It's a shame it didn't come to this actually, as she's a very placid and measured person generally, but I've seen her in action when she's genuinely furious - it makes for great entertainment as a watcher but you don't want to be on the receiving end of it!
My only consolation in all this is that he will undoubtedly one day crash when making his stupid manoeuvres, or he’ll road rage the wrong person and get his head kicked in. Either outcome is absolutely fine with me – I just hope he doesn’t injure anyone other than himself if the crash comes first.

BMW X6 driver yesterday, didn't look in his mirror or indicate when he pulled out into the outside lane of the M4 near Bristol, so I backed off and waited and he proceeded to drive at 65mph whilst other vehicles undertook and then pulled in front of him.
A quick indicate right saw nothing, so a quick flash of the lights and sure enough on came the brake lights, with a heavy stop. Sort of expecting it I had already positioned with space into the middle lane, so as he brake tested me, i slipped to the middle lane, at which point he saw me go past and floored it - foot to the floor and left at over 100mph.
Then slowed back to 60-65. As I went past he was giving huge hand gestures I ignored. Weird bloke and he had kids in the back
