I want one of these. A Daihatsu HiJet Jumbo truck. Also available as Suzuki Carry, Subaru Sambar, Honda Acty etc. There's some amazing versions with a lot of tech and lots of Greddy type customisation.

I'd just like a 4WD automatic aircon version to use as an everyday car. Got no interest in making it slammed and scene.

I waste many hours on this website: https://www.japanesecartrade.com/biggrin
Wow, I had no idea you could still buy these nearly new. I’ve always had a hankering for things like the Bedford Rascal, Super carry Acty van and it’s relatives.
I’m seriously considering selling the 997 to get a vintage tractor, 205 Van and Rascal camper van.
Amazing how much fun you have can going slow!
Someone mentioned Fiat Mulipla earlier. Had one as a dog car a while ago. Can confirm they are brilliant.

Nothing bizarre about that. I detested this kind of car years ago but have a yearning for the last of the old shape 4.8 turbo s cayennes, a totally ridiculous car that I could likely use once a week only but hey, I'm worth it....
its about need, got 2 large dogs, Missus has a lad and potentially another on the way. Just don't want something with a 2.0 Turbo etc so fancy something with power and a 8,10,12 cylinder.

Come from a 981 Cayman S so going to be totally different haha.
You are using exactly the same justifications I am (will, when I have the loot). Three dogs, daughter and I like cycling, dad lives 100 miles away and we visit once a month. One car for all occasions, and yes, damn and blast, I know a golf estate would also do...but its not the same, is it?

Voisin C31 'Biscuter' - one of the lesser known Voisins. I like the simplicity and the simple styling.

Nothing at all strange about wanting a Flavia. Pity that one's white but it looks great. Reasonably priced too I think.
A family friend had a couple of these Flavias, He let me borrow one for the weekend to visit my pal in Hull, It was a lovely journey from Bristol, I really enjoyed driving it, apart from the dogleg gearbox; it took many many miles to get used to putting in the right gear.

edit to add +1 for the Avantime + Nissan Es-cargo and maybe one of these:

Funny, I posted this in another thread earlier this month.

I've always wanted to make a "I know a millionaire who drives" post so here goes.

I know a millionaire who drives a biglaugh .........

...........bright orange FIAT Qubo with a disabled ramp.

He and all his family are fine but his old Golden Retriever's arthritic hips are done.
He uses it as his daily and is rarely in his real car (BMW M5).

I guess bizarre is all a matter of perspective. For example, I find it completely bizarre that people drool and dribble over things like a Golf GTI or Audi S3 redface
I would suspect it’s because as all rounders they are both good cars.

No idea why, but I drove past one of these (Chrysler Crossfire Convertible) for sale every day for a couple of years and always fancied one. Everything I've read about them suggests they're absolutely awful cars but they've always held an odd fascination for me.

My dad achieved his dream 2 car garage a few years ago. A diesel one of these and an MX5! I can confirm that the Nemo was surprisingly a proper laugh to drive! He has a C3 Picasso now which he doesn't like quite so much.

For me:
Mk1 Toyota Previa
Citroen 2CV/C15 van (have no "want" for a regular 2CV/Visa)
Morris Minor Traveller
Land Rover Discovery
mk1 Suzuki Vitara/Jimny

I "get" the Fiat X1/9 in the OP though. Went to the Fiat dealership with my dad to buy a new Fiat Panda in 1986 and there was a "sweet" dark blue X1/9 in the showroom.

Old model Mercedes SLK R170 from the Chrysler/Mercedes ill fated union. Quite reasonable cars, considering.

That looks like something made by a bonkers frenchman with bits of left over 2cv and coke cans.

I’ve always loved the 1st Generation Berlingo & Partner and an early 3 door one with a webasto roof would be ace
