That E38 is in real danger of meeting the reserve and then going significantly past the "Buy it now" price.
Surely someone would then just hit "BIN"? no?
Once the reserve is met (or a bid is placed on an auction with no reserve and a BIN) the BIN will disappear.

If it was a couple of hours closer to Cambridge I'd be BINning that immediately! No reasonable prospect of getting to Altrincham any time in the next few weeks, sadly.
I’d it helps, I’m in Altrincham on Friday and need to pop down to the Cotswolds the week after...

Let the train take the strain, as I did. Easy peasy.

What's going on here....I saw two ads like this yesterday. Some sort of scam?

Picture 1 is the one below, picture 2 is one telling you to contact them via a random gmail account.

Very elegant and given current E38 pricing it could be a great buy too.

Yes, there's been hundreds if not thousands of these recently. They take an old ad and steal the details photos, but ask you to email them. They don't have the car.

Could be a fussy tester and a clean up and coating of the pipes may be enough, not a terrible fail, but the advert is quite light on detail and with no interior pics as well there's definitely a risk that it's not a great example.

That's very kind - thank you. But I'd want to see it myself before parting with the full asking and driving it away.

No mention on the MOT of the dreaded firewall rot. Wonder if this one is miraculously immune?

If you’re local, it’s easy to check for bulkhead corrosion.
Bit annoying if you’ve travelled a long way.

Why oh why couldn’t Honda rust proof this car more thoroughly!?

If I consult my inner Honda nerd I think the Type-V had one similarity with the Type-R, in that the wheels were 5 rather than 4 lug.

To be honest mine passed with similar advisories back in 2013 - it had a shocking shimey on 18's too - the ball joint rubbers where just tired (age related) couldn't detect any play.

I got a quote from BMW for the parts and it was just under £1,000 (without the Vat) took me a while to find decent aftermarket parts at around £400 for the full kit front and rear - no shimey any more but you'd be hard pressed to notice any improvement in the ride other than that.

Said house viewing wasn't in Shropshire/Cheshire border was it?

Had the track rod ends replaced on my E38 and E65 and they eliminated a shimmy. As you say, no apparent difference in ride though, but I wouldn't expect there to be.

I tried for a while to find a decent S350d, and there were loads of adverts saying things like "MEGA SPEC, £££££££ OF EXTRAS" and it'd be a bog basic car with plastic seats, no DAB radio, a twisty turny key etc.

Mega spec seems to still mean electric windows and a heated rear windscreen for some sellers.
