The amg car brings a lot more than just outright speed. Even my s210 e55, the way it drives when pushed hard is very non barge like. My old 745i wouldn’t see which way it went!
Unsure if decent -

My seller also had rubber mats in his advert photos!

Not to mention his finger over the shutter...
That X5 (yours) looks smart as a carrot.
Thank you, I didn't want black (drug dealer) or white (Essex). The grey looks decent though. I wasn't planning on getting the 4.8i, but this green one came up and it looked so good, I couldn't resist. I think one of the only options it doesn't have is Active Steering. Has pretty much everything else. Seller also included the 20 inch summer wheels/tyres (currently on 18s/winter tyres). My wife enjoys driving it. She's less keen on filling it up though. biggrin
Dibs when you move it on please!
Will it get to 20 MPG on a motorway run?
@Macron - I've put you on the waiting list. thumbup

Yes, will do mid 20s on a motorway run (if not a bit higher). Looking at the OBC mpg...it'll typically read 16-18 for overall mixed driving.

The autobox loves to shift up though. You'll often find yourself in town at 30mph with it doing 1k revs which I don't think helps things to some extent.

If my son won't nap in the cot, I'll take him for a drive up and down the A12, cruise set to 62-65mph. Next time I'll do an OBC mpg reset and see what I get.

A member on here fastbikes76 has both a 630i and 650i and has reported the mpg on his 650 isn't that much worse than the 630. Unfortunately the X5 is quite a lot heavier plus all the XDrive gubbins as well. Economical, it is not! (Sounds good though!)

Comparing it to the 7 is a bit harsh on the 7, it's aimed at the 5 series size market. One should compare it to an M5, which probably would see which way it went wink

Cubanite Silver if I am not mistaken. I like it. £9,000 doesn't seem too bad. Is that supercharged or N/A?

That does look lovely & at a great price.

But am I the only one that would start asking questions as to why the took hook cover is missing?!

Basically the first thing I spotted. Looks lovely otherwise though.

I thought that the 210s were all N/A and the 211s were all supercharged, and Wikipedia seems to agree (for what that’s worth).

Eta: that one is 476hp so definitely supercharged.

That means four zone air con though... I've always found it pleasing in the same was a a speak and spell is pleasing, aesthetically speaking. Simple and unfussy designs.

A design flaw is that the children will control the adjustments with their little tootsies and either boil in the Alps or freeze in Scotland. Pesky little so and sos... however, it can be controlled from the front, too.

Correct:

210 - NA
211 55 - Supercharged
211 63 - NA again
212 63 - NA then twin turbo

Think mileage will put some off.
It’s far from terrible but it’s just getting towards what most would call ‘high’.

Only 2013-on, the early ones were the same 6.2 litre NA M156 as the facelift 211s and used all over the place in various 63 AMG models

So by engine and roughly the year:
M113 NA: 1998-2002
M113K: 2003-2006
M156 NA: 2007-2012
M157 twin turbo: 2013-2016
M177 hot-V turbo: 2017-on
Some awful 4-pot: 2022-on I think?

Surely not high mileage for a 17 year old car; although £9k seems a lot of money for a car of that age with a reputation for galloping rust. How much longer will the body live without big expense?

Fully understand that; but why not get it replaced, it'll cost pennies no doubt, stop the ugly look of it missing and also stop folk, like us, asking why it's missing!

The 210 has the reputation for rust, rather than the 211. The expenditure will most certainly arise from deferred maintenance; either this vehicle is being purchased to thrash and die or to revitalise i.e. ££££.

I'd venture it's certainly not pennies with some AMG-tax in the price or it's NLS. However, it's not a good look trying to sell with it missing I agree.

That's the engine that I have in my SL coupled with the practical body shell of my S211. It's not fully optioned but high spec plus rare 7 seats if needed. That would be a fantastic machine to road trip in. The drivetrain should be bulletproof and easily tunable up to well I think 600bhp and sounds orgasmic.
There is a build update called 805 around 2004 which is much improved over the 804, someone more knowledgeable than I will be able to advise. SBC might be the big one to watch with that one if not replaced plus only part history.

Plus side also only 3 owners also looks clean. I prefer the steering wheel of the facelift and I think it's possible to swap in a E63 wheel with alcantara and paddles, plus nicer gear lever.

I'm away now to get 4 tyres on my SL55. I'll link my go fund me page later biggrin

In meantime AMG Meister's videos are the best for these cars here's one in model variants.
