It simply disappeared!RIGHT, TO ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO ONLY READ THE FISRT LINE, THIS CAR IS AN E55 AMG, 500bhp V8 SUPERCHARGED BEAST, AND ITS £9,500! NOT £1234! IâM ABSOLUTELY AMAZED AT PEOPLES INABILITY TO PROCESS INFORMATION!!! AND DONâTWASTE MY TIME TRYING TO BUY IT IF YOU CANâT AFFORD IT!!!!! And if youâre reading this, itâs still available. MEGA rare opportunity for this E55 ESTATE, magnificent car with epic performance from its 500bhp Supercharged V8, Sportmatic suspension, every extra inc. rear media system. 140k miles but drives perfectly. MB history to 100k. Try and find another. £10,000
I wonder whether the attitude of the seller maybe one of the reasons it hasn't sold..??

I think the ad isn't great...as you say originally it was £9500 and he definitely wouldn't move on price. His definitely isn't fully loaded either...I had a quick glance and it's missing the keyless start and cooled seats. Mine has both, plus heated rear seats and the iPod dock in the glovebox.
The issue with these cars now, it's that they're old. Mine runs great but it's an old car with nearly 150k miles, so stuff needs fixing.
I spend at least a grand on mine a year (on average) but I run it as my daily driver and so it's done 50,000 miles in 4 years. It would have been nearer 60k if I'd not spent most of the last 12 months at home.
It's having a new rear abs ring and sensor fitted today.....which is very typical for all 211 E classes. And parts for that have cost me £45, so no AMG tax on them.

I have rebuilt the air suspension compressor for £15, the suspension fault I am convinced is due to a dodgy solenoid connection in the boot- wiggle the connector and the fault goes away...
If your pump is anything like that in the E39, then it might be the brushes of the motor seizing up in the cold; try oiling them.mondayo said:

I’m with you there. Some of the adverts are just pure comedy. RIGHT, TO ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO ONLY READ THE FISRT LINE, THIS CAR IS AN E55 AMG, 500bhp V8 SUPERCHARGED BEAST, AND ITS £9,500! NOT £1234! I’ve just sold my Cayenne (without advertising) and I’m on the hunt for something else which is taking me to the furthers corners of Marketplace, Autotrader, Gumtree and Car & Classic.
I’ve read countless adverts recently where it comes across like the seller is either a) doing me a favour by writing two scant paragraphs about the car or b) creating a no-nonsense front to help weed out time wasters.
As it stands I just bypass those ones as life’s too short to be dealing wIth a-holes and then giving them my hard earned money.
Here’s a snippet from one advertising a Boxster that stuck in my head...
“Bad bits are, requires an MOT and will need 2 CV boots to get it through. The price is fixed if you dont have £6299 dont message or even ask for the best price for cash. its £8,000 with the work done all day.”
Neglected to mention it’s been sorned since Jan ‘20 and has been listed for 15 weeks now, the MOT expired on 9 October and that one (from 2019) also had an advisory that the discs were corroded back then.
On the face of it there would seem to be something amiss with that E55K: it looks great (can't remember seeing another in that colour) and in the current climate seems reasonably priced. Seller does sound rather unpleasant.
Then again, maybe as alluded to it's just that there isn't much of a market for a leggy super estate which comes with a guarantee of hefty bills for repairs and fuel. Ask me how I know. Mine is closing in on 170k and though it's been pretty good to me I've still had a four-figure bill from my The Man every year I've had it (four). Airmatic pump is making some horrid noises now, so more expense looms.
Still absolutely love the car though. Can't bear the thought of trading down to anything slower. Given the mileage and the points above I'm probably stuck with it until one of us dies anyway!

The early 211s didn't have there, AFAIK. What year is yours, Mondayo?
Even my lowly 200 has the iPod thingy in the glovebox.Had the 6 disc changer but single slot for CD/DVD.
Cruise control, front and rear PDC, the SBC hold feature which I love. Twin sun visors which is also great.
Paid £1700 two years ago (103k miles) and I’ve no idea what I’d get to replace it that wouldn’t be treble the price.
I need an estate, and I prefer auto and RWD for daily driver.
Well, in 211 E500 world over here, this happened:
Front ns Airmatic strut (I think). Will raise enough to move in a straight line, but basically undriveable. I think I am also facing a few other issues which I will delve into once I hear back from the man.
If it is the strut, I don't really see the point of not replacing the other side at the same time. At this kind of high mileage (177k) surely the other side will give up the ghost soon enough? Shame they cost so much.
Edited to mention....winter wheels and tyres, before someone starts to complain about the non-standard alloys!
