That guy could give that car to me and not notice the difference in his account balance! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/saab-9-5-aero-2-3-turbo...

Such a good looking car. The mods are reasonably subtle. I'd like a V8 version.cmvtec said:

I've just insured my S-Type for £500, and my old Golf shed is £380. If I hadn't discovered a really good guy at Keith Michaels, for both, this is still less than I was paying for an X-Type diesel.
Insurance kills me. I'm 31, good postcode and 9 years NCD!
Jesus. I'm 36 and paying £185 for a supercharged Jaguar XKR 4.0! The quote for the 4.2 S-Type, with full business use etc., is £234!I've just insured my S-Type for £500, and my old Golf shed is £380. 6 nights in and I am still in hospital waiting to be fixed and on so many tablets that I rattle when I walk.
Just been told they're taking me to the big hospital tomorrow to see exactly what is wrong and hopefully they can fix me there and then with stents. If not I may be here for a while longer.
It's not much fun being confined to the ward due to covid and not being allowed any visitors. Thank god for technology. I am being treated well though.
Sorry to hear that Emeye. Hoping they fix you up and let you out soon.Just been told they're taking me to the big hospital tomorrow to see exactly what is wrong and hopefully they can fix me there and then with stents. If not I may be here for a while longer.

I sympathise with your predicament. Back in 2017 I spent 13 nights in a hospital in Italy with no-one around to visit, a fairly significant language barrier and shonky data connections. Thank goodness for GoogleTranslate and a Kindle.
It's the lack of decent sleep I think many find toughest with long hospital stays, so I hope you're managing some rest each night.

Best wishes mate. Hospital without visitors is a fairly miserable place to be. I hope the time passes quickly for you and you get fixed soon. I've lusted after one of those Arrows cars for a long time. I really like the style.
It is lovely, but why do you refer to it as an 'Arrows' car? This coincides with the 'Silver Arrow' limited edition, though is shirley unrelated?Mikedknight said:

I was frustrated with my Crown's insurance & I felt penalised for getting my cars from the other side of the planet, I mean really it's just a Lexus - but at a shade under £600 (and I'm older with more NCB than both CM and Rex) I don't feel so bad, it's the price I pay for having something different
I'm paying £1700 for trade insurance, any car up to 10k value. That includes my dad in his 60's and my gf in her late 20's I only have a years NCB due to being a named driver on someone elses trade insurance previously. They are pretty relaxed about actual trading I'm fairly sure a few threadists would probably qualify with their fleets!Starjet99 said:

As far as putting your son on if he’s under 25 it’s very expensive.
Send me a pm if you want my brokers details he’s a great bloke.

Shocked at some of the prices people have to pay to insure their barges!
The most I ever paid was £1300 for my X350 when I was 19, 8 years later it is around £1k less.
Last year I paid £900 to insure both my V10 M6 and CL500 together.
I'm on Admiral Multicar currently and 3x £2k cars (E39, Octavia vRS, 1996 Fiesta), my 2015 Superb 280 and the home insurance is about £1k which I think is reasonable. Drivers are my wife and I (both 33/34 years) and probably 20-25k total mileage. The most I ever paid was £1300 for my X350 when I was 19, 8 years later it is around £1k less.

As far as Insurance goes, I just had my auto-renewal reminder today - so this is before shopping around:
That’s with a (bad) OL postcode on the M62 corridor, 10k business miles (SDP+C as well), all mods (SL wheels declared).
M6 on a separate policy, £500 for that with same level of cover.
20 years ago (eek!) I paid £950 for a Supra - a then fast car with it’s 230hp - 3mph faster flat out if you dropped the pop-up headlights down, which made v-max runs at night somewhat gripping, to say the least.

The S-Type V8 quote was for 15k miles per year and includes business use. As an aside, was quoted a pound more for an X350 3.0 with the same insurer.
Maybe they just have me down as an old fart? Which would, in many ways, be true!
