Great photos (sadly compressed) and an absurd price.

Do we have a view on mid/late-2000s 3.0 Scooby Outbacks? Are they thread-worthy? Any experience running one?
Had a previous gen’ Legacy Outback with the same H6 motor. Quicker than you think when you really need it to be.
Goes around corners like nobody’s business.
Very well spec’d and comfortable but they can rust.
Unsure if the corrosion is a potential issue on the newer version.
Also, surprisingly economical.
Got 30 on the motorway with little effort.

My Mrs had a 2.4 - very thread-worthy imho.Build quality was excellent, ride quality superb for its size/type of vehicle. Every fixing underneath is beautifully laid out and well engineered. Frameless doors feel like a bit of luxury. The 2.4 managed mid-30s mpg, the H6 will obviously be worse but they're not that bad.
Downsides are the interior is a bit plastic - not in a cheap way, but in that practical Japanese way. Where a European manufacturer would've made it out of soft touch plastic and have it fall apart, everything just works. Biggest bugbear for me was getting hold of parts - not many aftermarket bits available for them outside the usual service consumables. If you want to do a suspension refresh with proper parts be prepared to wait while a dealer flies parts from Japan.
I'd have a 3.0 without hesitation.
ETA: Ours had no rust at all when we sold it at 12 years old and 160k miles, underneath was still good. Mrs used it as a work car in all weathers, so it was constantly covered in salt and crap.
We had the previous-gen (BH) as well and although that was a more characterful car, this one's the sweet spot imho. She's now got the model which followed this one (BR gen) which is more of a 4x4 size and it's not a patch imho. Suspension too firm to avoid rolling about like a ferry, less well built.

Keep us posted
I got my car back from paint a little earlier than expected. It's OK, I'm reasonably happy, it's not brand new Century perfection and tbf I don't think it needs to be, nor could I expect it to be, so it'll do.
There are a few solvent pop pinholes, which is disappointing, but you'd have to be fussy to notice them (and I'm fussy!), the overall shine and finish is good though. A couple of trim items haven't gone back on quite as well as factory fresh, but such is life when trim is removed and refitted, I'll have a fettle later. The car has had paint previously in a few areas, so with a detailing session it will be fine overall. I might touch in and flat the few odd pinholes, it's certainly not worth doing it again.
Have a nice weekend everyone.
From a paint shop's perspective, could there be a more intimidating sensible-money car to deal with than a Century?
As I am now apparently celeb-obsessed, I noticed that Chris Harris has bought himself a 500SL R129 for the summer.

I've always fancied one of those since they first came out. I think a small, well-appointed, comfortable car would be ideal in combination with an über-barge.Renault 5 Monaco automatic currently at £3250.

Barge royalty requests and requires an OE optional flag carrier, truly fit for heads of state/diplomats/carpet warehouse directors. Also useful come the world cup
What has been bothering me about this for nearly 24 hours is why is it 745 specific. Was the flag holder part number different for the V12 models?Ben
No, it's 1878398
The graphic is just due to the file structure I think.
It has many applications

The comment about once child and giraffe took me a while but eventually I got there
However overall the head rest set up ranks equally with cocaine tables on the wonk when both are extended (have a little bit of OCD)
