Apologies for multiple successive posts; catching-up. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334000283946?hash=item4...
Feeling the love for that CL. A lot.
Currently 6,100. Bet it goes for rather more, shill-bidding or not.

Mind telling an almost German where that is please, CdG? https://www.cnvh.lu/
Unfortunately I think you'd be too late to see it as I seem to recall that the exhibition closed from Sat. I've just checked the flyer on the site actually and sure enough it finished on 15 May.
I guess the (very modest but rather charming) normal display vehicles will be reinstated.

I’ve never bothered with the Best of the Best or whatever the car lotteries typically seen at airports are called, but someone on the MB forum won a 129 from these chaps, who currently are touting a C140. For £8 I thought it worth a flutter!

1500 tickets at 8 quid will enable them to turn a nice profit on that car. https://www.bridgeclassiccarscompetitions.co.uk/pr...

Oh bugger, I thought it was perhaps a permanent thing. Oh well, thanks anyway. https://www.cnvh.lu/

It wasn't done properly on my Singelfingen V8 (modded with a 'Powerflow'). The drone was awful and I was grateful for the OEM cat backs (expensive, mind).
When I was younger and stupider I did the same to my V6 MG ZT - I'm not touching the Crown's mechanical Toyota did all the hard work for me TommoAE86 said:

I love facts like these!
Fancy a similar but car related one? When I worked at BMW (late 2000's E60/1/2/3/4/ E90/1/2/3/4) the key pushed into the dash and the car started. Push it again and it released. The car charged the key! Brilliant.
When we moved to F10/11 the car was keyless, nowhere to put it and no way to charge it - back to replacing batteries. Rubbish.
I asked at a launch event why we had taken a backwards step and was told Americans couldn't get to grips with pushing the key into the dash to get it to release.
Edited to add: I love Americans, I lived in Scottsdale AZ for a time and found them to be lovely people. Open, caring and a little bit stupid but in a charming way.

I've had 2 E46s and 3 E39s. All of them have the radio volume controls on the left hand steering spoke.
I've subsequently had an F31 and F32 and the controls have moved to the right hand spoke.
It confuses me when I hop from my F designation car to my Es.
Why did they do it?

To avoid making LHD and RHD specific pieces of plastic to save €0.00000000017 per vehicle?I've had 2 E46s and 3 E39s. All of them have the radio volume controls on the left hand steering spoke.

I endured the misery of a ride in a Jeep thing today, small one, "heated steering wheel" the driver proclaimed. Here's the first photo I could find on AT showing the button adjacent the passenger side heated seat button, for a RHD car. Result? €0.00000000017 per vehicle saved, and an utterly illogical location for the button on a RHD car...

The F10 does have a key holder, just below the 2 centre cupholders No key holder on my current F31, they just get lobbed in the cup holder...
For those of you following my W124 saga... Having sold the car for £2300 on Ebay, the buyer came to pick up the car and started to negotiate on price (he as a dealer and his MO appeared to win on Ebay and go and offer a lower price to get a bargain). Once he'd decided not to go ahead, I relisted the car on eBay. It sold again on Sunday but the top bidder wasn't prepared to send me a deposit (oh no, I though, here we go again...)
Thankfully the 2nd bidder then e-mailed me out of the blue saying he was definitely interested. He's just been over and dropped off a deposit and it looks like the car is going to a new home.
What a complete PITA it is to sell a car on Ebay. I know a scruffy old W124 isn't the most expensive or exciting car ever, but blimey it's hard work dealing with other people.
Oh - and the good news - the car went for an extra £300 this week! nice.

Since we are on the subject, I took my Phaeton round to show a colleague the weekend before last, and while I was there he let me have a go in his V10 TDI Touareg...
A local had one of these from new (2005 ish) taking a break from Range Rover hegemony. After three years and just 20000 miles iirc he was offered something like £12k as a trade in. £65k new.Same chap bought a Boxster when they first appeared. Did <10000 miles in five years before listing on the bay. Offered around £8k by the OPC in Maidstone but got nearly £20k from the auction.
He hasn’t bought a Porker or VW since. Does have very deep pockets however. And three Bugatti’s.

I did post this earlier in the week, as inspired by you Thankfully the 2nd bidder then e-mailed me out of the blue saying he was definitely interested. He's just been over and dropped off a deposit and it looks like the car is going to a new home.

Oh and with regards to the GR, Harry says that the UK suspension upgrade by Litchfield is well worth it.

Congratulations on the sale. I'd love to know what percentage of ebay car auctions complete first time to the highest bidder, because it's certainly not an option I would consider for selling a car.Thankfully the 2nd bidder then e-mailed me out of the blue saying he was definitely interested. He's just been over and dropped off a deposit and it looks like the car is going to a new home.

That’s a real bugbear of mine too. No matter how much you state in the listing “please view the car before the auction end” when I was selling cars full time I’d probably have to bugger at least one “customer” off a week.Thankfully the 2nd bidder then e-mailed me out of the blue saying he was definitely interested. He's just been over and dropped off a deposit and it looks like the car is going to a new home.

That and the no communication once they’d won or their cat with fibromyalgia had bid on it. If eBay would take even a £10 deposit before you could bid on a car it would take 90% of the wasters out of it. Rant over.

How infuriating. Why not link to his stock and we can take it in turns to go round and do exactly the same to him. Bloody chancer; needs a poke in the nads.
