There is precious little in my under-achieving life that offers much in the way of pride, but I have just received a message from my youngest daughter with a picture of a Century snapped at Wardour Castle.
She loved it, and has instantly become a massive fan. 22 years of cost and heartache forgiven in a moment. #prouddad. My work is done.

That's exactly what I was talking about, I love that interior buuuuut it appears the photos have had some filter applied to enhance the colour - I suspect in real life they are not as impressive. And it's on collecting cars - their suggestion that it should prove to be reliable is laughable, as they have no idea - it's been 10 years since "the owner thinks" the cambelt was changed and it's a very old, high power Volvo with an autobox.
Tempted but you'd have to go in with your eye wide open on a Jap import with unknown history.
My feelings on CC are that they have some lovely looking cars on their site but I'd not but anything of them without being able to check it out properly...as there is seemingly no come back to them. They must take their cut and their off.Tempted but you'd have to go in with your eye wide open on a Jap import with unknown history.
I think if you're selling, then they are great for you.
The 520i touring they're selling is currently sat at £650 with the auction finishing on Friday....

Haven't seen a Century around 'yere but now I know there might be one lurking about I will keep my eyes peeled. She loved it, and has instantly become a massive fan. 22 years of cost and heartache forgiven in a moment. #prouddad. My work is done.

It's a pisstake really, the belt isn't a hard job on these so if you had any concern for the car you'd chuck £250 - £300 at is and get it done. Suggests a seller who wants a return for the no effort effort to me.Tempted but you'd have to go in with your eye wide open on a Jap import with unknown history.
As you say, it'll be a borkfest; I've always wanted to like these but the ride is terrible, the handling quite poor, the 5 speed automatic inadequate, they're really fragile and a T5 (particularly a 2.4) is 90% of the car for 10% of the hassle.
In happy news for today, I am pleased to report that pulling SL1’s relay block to bits (hint, the top plastic bit comes off) and re-soldering the contacts for the indicator relay has worked, and I am now in posession of a car that indicates again. Woo hoo.
Of course, driving it around the block to ‘test’ functionality has shown up a significant use flaw. While I can happily drive with no radio, and could cope with not having the heater controls missing if I could open a window, the window switches are currently with Olly. Bugger.
At least the heater controls can be slipped in loosely in the meantime!

I'm not sure, but I think that might be Hugh, lives in London. There are about thirteen GZG50 models in the UK now, I know of most of them though we've never met. Hoping to get a meet organised this summer. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
