GTO are a big player in the game and have been trading for a long time, even selling components to Ferrari via third parties for their own in house restorations.

Chatted with the guys a few years back about their 250 SWB reproductions, Ferrari are fully aware of the cars and have no issue with them (i.e no legal recourse to block the builds).

Much like Singer, GTO are officially/legally restorers/convertors of customers own Ferrari's hence the SWB bodies need to have a customers 250 GTE VIN.

These new cars will be bespoke, with no claims made to be exact copies of any other manufacturers example, they just take inspiration from the period so in that instance GTO will be a manufacturer in their own right.

If you were a billionaire, wouldn't you rather have the real thing (that doesn't look like a kit car)??

Probably looking at about £4-4.5m. Which in a world where Enzos and LaFs are £2-2.5m, seems like a fricken steal! I'll take one of each model. biggrinbiggrin
Indeed. But the problem is that's only the start of it ... there are so many more I'd want too ... a Stratos, a Miura SV ... where do you stop?

Unfortunately, back in the real world, it all stops here smile

True story. I think as a billionaire it probably wouldn't stop. Things like this week's EuroMil - I know I'm never going to win it, but for my £10 ticket I've bought the ability to let my mind wander for a little while and imagine what select few cars I'd like to put in my (new) garage. I can't imagine I'd have anywhere to commute to each day, so it becomes about what I would enjoy driving for pleasure. So for the time I would spend in it, I'd rather have the real thing and all the experiences that brings. For a my 'modern' car fix, I'd be shopping in the McLaren P1 section - assuming this Moderna is c.£1m of course! (Like for like in price terms) And if I really wanted a 'old car looks with modern etc' I'd probably go and speak to Eagle.

Typing this post was fun and depressing in equal measure...

I guess the money they're going to make from their vaccine sales will help fund the development of the car...

I'll get me coat.
