At the risk of being identified as a massive BMW fanboy, here goes.
Well I've already admitted to owning BMW numbers 6 and 7 in the 2010s and not got flamed (yet)!

There's just something about them.
I seem to keep coming back to them too (only up to 3 and 4 though, but have had 4 MINI’s too).

I had 7 of them as well between 2006 and 2017(mostly loved them all). I've moved away now though and they just don't seem to grab me as much as they used to(their current cars are getting less and less interesting for me).
I’m finding less and less to get excited about too. I’d like to jump to an M car next (M3/3/4), but I can’t see it being anything after the F8x cars.

I still lust after a F82 M4 a hell of a lot and I enjoy seeing them out on the road. I also really enjoyed the F83 M4 that I had a test drive in...maybe one day hopefully. thumbup

E46 M3 (2009-2019) - one owner, kept in pristine condition (I spent £8k on it the year before I sold it as I intended to keep forever eek )

F06 M6GC - 2018-2019)

F80 M3 (2019-2020)

718 Cayman GTS 4.0 (2020 - date)

I sold the E46 as circumstances had changed and I was in a position to try something newer, but regretted it in all honesty; neither the F80 nor the F06 really felt like 'me' after I'd got over the novelty of the power and the new toys. I feel much more at home in the Cayman, so feel like I'm done changing cars for a while again.

I passed my driving test in 2011 or 2012, so the first car I drove was my mum's Polo, 60 reg.

The first car I owned was a gift for my 21st in 2015, a Citroen DS3 DSport Red

Then in 2018 I chopped it in for my current car, a Mk7.5 GTI

I'd love to know where my DS3 ended up. It's had a pretty poor MOT history since, so I'd like to think they've started taking care of it now

2010 - a 2003 Octavia vRS estate with a remap so about 210 bhp.
2012 - 2017 - a 2009 Mazda 3 MPS. Miss this car sometimes but wanted more practicality again.
2017 - now - a 2017 Octavia vRS estate (standard).

Kind of boring compared to some people on here!

Thanks, there were many, many hours spent cleaning all of them! Cayman is now ceramic coated so the object of the exercise is to touch it as little as possible unfortunately. As a consequence I'm now 'restoring' the fiancee's A3...

I had all three Ms briefly (while I was waiting for the M6 and old M3 to be collected), I used to like going out there and admiring the 'fleet' (albeit parked on the road as there wasn't enough room on the drive laugh ).

Cayman was a 'now or never' purchase as I don't see this sort of car happening much (if at all) in the future. Felt quite irresponsible when I did it, now I'm massively glad I did. Was an expensive journey but I got there in the end!

2010-2010 L Reg Primera 1.6, which got rear ended in the Jan writing it off
2010-2011 R Reg Rover 620 Si - capable, but dull
2011- T Reg Rover 620 Ti - fast(ish) & fun. Picked up off of eBay for princely sum of £275. Still have and must get back on the road
2013- 63 Reg Chevrolet Captiva LTZ. Bought as a pre-registered car with 1/3 off list price, so effectively my first ever brand new car. Great Mway cruiser & load lugger. Pricey in last couple of yrs; injectors x4, transfer box, glow plugs

OH's cars
[2002-] 51 Reg Corolla Verso TSpirit. Parked up in 2014, still sat on the drive (??)
2014- 13 Reg Vauxhall Antara Exclusive 2.4 petrol. Smooth engine, very quiet & comfy place to be sat.

Having passed my driving test in 2009, the 2010’s is pretty much my entire car history.

There has been some overlap, running several cars at once… But here goes:

Renault Clio 1.4 ‘Privilege’
My first car. It didn’t have body-coloured bumpers, I sprayed it myself. In the wrong shade of silver.

Vauxhall Corsa B
Ran it for a few months temporarily while I saved for my next car (was cheap to buy this than keep the Clio on the road).

Mazda RX-7 FD
My first performance car, bought at 20 years old having had no proper driving experience. It was eye opening.

Mazda RX-8 R3
An amazing all-rounder which gave me the track day bug.
Readers car thread:
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Mazda MX-5 MK1
I don’t need to say anything about this, you all know how good they are.
Readers car thread:
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

BMW E30 320i race car
I took up racing and did a few seasons. This car was incredible.

2014 Skoda CitiGo
The more powerful 70bhp version. Cracking little car which actually saw some action on track a few times. I got laughed at during the noise test. In fact, the photo below is from a day I did at Castle Combe.

Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ
Bought as a bit of fun for not much money, ran it for a few months and sold it back to the guy I bought it from. Comfy, good looking and quite well equipped.
Readers car thread:
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Porsche Boxster S (987.2)
Took me a while to find the right spec, and at 23 it felt truly special to walk into a Porsche dealership and buy a Porsche. The Boxster really is a truly incredible car. I am disappointed that I never tracked it though…

2017 Skoda CitiGo
The lease ran out on the first CitiGo, so I got another one, in an even better shade of green! The UP!/Mii/CitiGo is such a great little hatch… Don’t have a decent photo of this one.

Daewoo Nubira CDX
The Boxster sold within a few days of being listed, for the full asking price – I never expected that, and didn’t quite have the necessary funds for my next car, so bought this £500 shed to run around in. It was absolutely terrible, but I really loved it – and it really was quicker than you’d expect. Only needed it for 3 months.
I actually did a stupidly long readers cars thread on the Daewoo:
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Ford Mustang GT
My current car, purchased in October 2019 – the last purchase of the decade and what a way to see it out. I’ve come a long way in 10 years!
I wonder what the next 10 will bring?

started the decade in my 370Z in Singapore

By 2013 i had moved to Thailand and was running a Mitsubishi Triton Double Cab (L200 in the UK)

Towards the end of the decade i found myself in Indonesia and smoking about in an old X5

Back in the UK right at the end of the decade and its now a Range Rover and a 911

edit - i actually still have the X5 and the Triton....

Is it bad that when looking at TREMAiNE‘s history the car I immediately wanted to look at the readers car thread for was the Daewoo?

I’m also a fan of the Citigo, I decided I would finance one as my first car, thankfully my brain kicked in and I got a cheap Ka, a good plan because it earned many scuffs in its first few months.
This is it after a disagreement with a fence post.

I was in company cars then, so nothing exciting in any way shape or form.

2010 - Audi A3 1.6tdi
2013 - Ford Focus Titanium Estate 1.5Tdci - Bought this at the end of it's term in 2016 and only sold it last summer.
2015 - Skoda Octavia Estate 2.0Tdi - Changed job in late 2016 and inherited this older car when I started the new job
2018 - Skoda Superb Sportline 1.4Tsi - Lovely car loaded with tech, it was shame to leave it with the company when I left last summer.

Back on a car allowance now. I can't tell you what I have now as I bought it in 2020 which is outside the scope of this thread biggrin

Not bad at all hehe

That was the most fun I've had writing a reader's car thread and probably one of the most memorable cars I'll ever own.

I went over to read the Mustang thread, then realised I was the last person to post in it hehe

Burnout videos please, surely those Pirellis are burnt off by now? beer

hehe

I did replace the Pirellis (with more Pirellis that were free!) earlier in the year but never found the time to go and do a big burnout before the change!
Shameful, I know.

Despite not needing them, I have priced up some PS4s, so I might need to artificially wear the Pirellis to give myself an excuse to buy more rubber...
