RE: Ferrari readies LaFerrari successor
Discussion
Just to clarify, I read the article...
I don’t know what 2012 Paris Motor Show the author attended, but the McLaren P1 was the only car of the trio which was actually there.
Porsche’s stand was vacant of the 918 Spyder - they focused on the Panamera SportTurismo concept. The 918 Spyder made its debut in Frankfurt, I believe.
Ferrari’s La Ferrari wasn’t there either, but they did show what they indicated was the chassis of their next supercar as seen here. It made its formal debut at Geneva in 2013.

Uhhh, Enzo's full name is: Enzo Anselmo Giuseppe Maria Ferrari.........
....... I'll let it set in for a second.
I know that. You know that. I can guarantee that there are only a baby's handful of nerds that ALSO know that and, let's face it, his middle names aren't exactly very 21C Ferrari are they. ....... I'll let it set in for a second.

Interesting that they've camouflaged what is basically a LaFerrari.

It don't look that special to me, to be honest.
I wonder if that's because the run of the mill Ferrari models are looking ever more extreme and spectacular.

6 exhausts. Brill.
Did you read the article? What I see on the screen is effectively a LaFerrari body with a new powertrain in the back. Maybe some small detail changes, but I would expect that the new design would be so significantly different from this that they could have left it looking like a un-camo'd LaF and no one would have took notice (beyond the extra two exhaust outlets).
And if Ferrari aren't changing the design significantly from the LaFerrari then I am sad because the LaF was a mess.

more than 1000bhp. Just keeping up with the Jones' and pretty pointless.
Prefer Gordon Murray's approach, keep the weight down and the engine numbers sensible.
Hey ho. They will end up in the hands of people for which the BHP figure is a mark of virility presumably.
You think the T50 is going to be more useable? It has around 800BHP/tonne!Prefer Gordon Murray's approach, keep the weight down and the engine numbers sensible.

I am not their target purchaser (probably wouldn’t be able to afford the annual insurance and maintenance) – but I am pleased that cars still exist like this. However, upon release, this will be seen ‘cruising’ around London (insert any high profile place i.e. Monaco) and then parked in climate controlled storage to be sold years later at an inflated premium with low/delivery miles as a collector/investment car.
If I was in a position to purchase this (I am not), then these type of cars just don’t do it for me (but each to their own).

I'm trying to think of a single person who has got out of a 918, P1, or LaLa and said "hmm, nice, but could do with more power and performance".........
Each one of those cars is already totally "tyre limited" in reality
What tyres are on a Veryron? Each one of those cars is already totally "tyre limited" in reality
Do you think tyre companies and hyperformance car manufacturers don't speak to each other?
