The v12 in an 812 is currently ~800bhp. There are four electric motors in the Lotus Evija each about 500bhp. If they use just one electric motor like that and a V12, is 1300bhp really that unbelievable?

now wouldn't it be great if they had the balls to make an exceptional drvers car, sub 1,000kg, V12, Manual instead of another handbag

It's not quite the same type of car as the T50 or the Valkyrie though is it. T50 is a driver focused road car and very "old school" in many ways, the Valkyrie is VERY much a track car. I think this is kind of in between and a very much techno marvel, unlike the T50.

I'm trying to think of a single person who has got out of a 918, P1, or LaLa and said "hmm, nice, but could do with more power and performance".........

Each one of those cars is already totally "tyre limited" in reality
What tyres are on a Veryron?

Do you think tyre companies and hyperformance car manufacturers don't speak to each other?
er, the Veyron is even MORE tyre limited that the holy trinity! literally 1 lap on a track and a veryon has no front corners on it's tread blocks!

This is because it is hugely heavy and hugely powerful. The holy trinity are slightly less powerful and quite a bit less heavy, but none of the three can deal with the loads they can dish out to their standard tyres, and even on their option tyres, they still have a sweet spot of just a few laps of the average track

No, it really wouldn't. Who do you think actually buys Ferrari in 2021? Pure driving enthusiasts??

Ferrari don't need to have balls, they need to please shareholders.

That is all.

I'm saying it wouldn't be great financially. If I'm a shareholder I don't care about manual cars, I care about making as much money as possible. The market for a manual naturally aspirated V8/V12 died a long time ago for those in the market for Ferrari; they are about the the highest performance possible, not the purest driving experience and arguably they've already done that with older cars like the F430 and 599.

I do and I disagree with the idea as the market Ferrari aims at (ie the majority of those who actually buy the cars) isn't looking for that kind of thing anymore. smile

Veyron tyres are Michelin. They make them in the factory at stoke and they have a big secure unit to store hypercar tyres

What a bizarre comment. I'm sure if a Ferrari dealer told someone they had to buy an F8 but after testing that person preferred a Huracan I'm pretty sure that despite the fact their Ferrari dealer told them to get the Ferrari they'd still end up with the Huracan......

Hypercar market I think is a lot more sold before it's shown, so it's very different from your F8/Huracan run-of-the-mill models.
plus you also need to have 2+ of the current models to get on the list to be considered with Ferrari
