The Renault Flame Red was an amazing colour when it was launched (I also like their Liquid Yellow) but really needs the sun to make it pop. Whenever I go on holiday, I see cars that i think "Wow", like the orange Focus STs but in the rain, on a dull afternoon, in the UK, they don't shine so much.

Had a flame red 172 which is probably my favourite colour of the cars I’ve specced.

Citroen crimson is quite similar and a close second.

In which this (‘RHD ‘66 1600 Alfa Giulia Spider - Duetto) will eventually be painted

Why does that lady have yellow hands?

That blue will look stunning on the Duetto, stuff the purists.

I had a new Accord Type R in Pirates Black back in c2000 - loved the colour of it in the sun.

I had a MKII Golf GTI that had been resprayed that colour. Was lovely. Sadly now in the scrap heap in the sky.

Last two cars are grey, and black... really!? Favourite colour!?
You can’t see all the blue hues present in carbon black?
Yeah just about but it's still black in almost every light. You put it in a long of other black and nearly black cars I wouldn't pick it out.

Each to their own though! I'm a fan of colours like oak green, estoril blue, liquid yellow.. but I've only ever owned black and silver cars myself.

I’m not a fan of the later Estoril Blue, it doesn’t seem to have as much depth as the original.

As far as the Carbon Black goes, I find I can pick out the blue hues most of the time.

Has anyone ever wondered where they get the names for these colours/ Some (like aubergine and petrol blue) for example are sort of self explanatory, but some of the others???

That's not Dakar Yellow smile

This is Dakar Yellow..

ETA: Maybe its just in a funny light tbh, but it looks too dark and rich to me

Probably a bit of over-zealous Photoshop adjustment.
Not had this lot out for a while....driving

VW Oak Green is fantastic
I’d agree with that. I would of loved my 5 series in a dark metallic green.

I also like a light metallic silver (which was not available in the M Sport 5 Series). Whilst I’m generally not a great fan of white, I do like the latest Audi A6 in Metallic White. Anything beige, Brown or even grey is a no from me.

I do wish manufacturers would offer a wider colour choice.

Some manufacturers do, but you have to pay for the BMW Individual, Audi Exclusive, etc programmes.

There's a brand new Boston Green M550i on Autotrader now.

Also, a Frozen Silver one.

Exclusive or Individual colours is not really my league and I always buy ex demo that further limits the colour choice.

I saw an Aston today in the incredibly named Flugplatz blue.
Normally I would say Astons should be silver / grey ( cliche I know), but this was stunning.

Ford must have exhausted all the sea and ocean names for blues. I had a Fiesta in 1982 in Baltic blue. The year before, virtually identical colour was Atlantic blue, and another sea the year after.
