The Renault Flame Red was an amazing colour when it was launched (I also like their Liquid Yellow) but really needs the sun to make it pop. Whenever I go on holiday, I see cars that i think "Wow", like the orange Focus STs but in the rain, on a dull afternoon, in the UK, they don't shine so much.
Had a flame red 172 which is probably my favourite colour of the cars I’ve specced.Citroen crimson is quite similar and a close second.

Last two cars are grey, and black... really!? Favourite colour!?
You can’t see all the blue hues present in carbon black? Each to their own though! I'm a fan of colours like oak green, estoril blue, liquid yellow.. but I've only ever owned black and silver cars myself.

As far as the Carbon Black goes, I find I can pick out the blue hues most of the time.

VW Oak Green is fantastic
I’d agree with that. I would of loved my 5 series in a dark metallic green. I also like a light metallic silver (which was not available in the M Sport 5 Series). Whilst I’m generally not a great fan of white, I do like the latest Audi A6 in Metallic White. Anything beige, Brown or even grey is a no from me.
I do wish manufacturers would offer a wider colour choice.

Has anyone ever wondered where they get the names for these colours/ Some (like aubergine and petrol blue) for example are sort of self explanatory, but some of the others???
Ford must have exhausted all the sea and ocean names for blues. I had a Fiesta in 1982 in Baltic blue. The year before, virtually identical colour was Atlantic blue, and another sea the year after. Pan Pan Pan said:
