RE: Brabus 3.6S Lightweight for sale

Can’t get past the fact it’s a replica/recreation/whatever you want
To call it.
100k buys some serious German metal with plenty of pedigree.
Plus it looks a little too much like a slightly over colour coordinated
190E 2.0 from circa 1995 back when every other 190 had zender
Body kits or Lorinser alloys.
Nope, give me a stock 2.3-16 , a nice 964 or an E30 M3 please !

Love Mercs from this era, but £100k (assuming that's even remotely realistic) is proof positive that overpaying for cars is now a badge of honour.
It's an interesting car, but the dramatic valuation compared to, say, an E36 M3 or E34 M5 makes no sense. Rarity isn't good enough. This thing looks like a £2k snotter on dodgy aftermarket rims. I know that's not what it is. But the ultimately the provenance isn't that wonderful and the driving experience almost certainly won't be £100k's worth.
You could create something actually spectacular to drive with a budget of, say, £30k and an E36 if you want that kind of experience.

I can't imagine having 100k to spend on an interesting car and thinking "What I really want is a relatively slow, quite ugly, 10 year old homage to a weird tie up between a rental car company and a tasteless Mercedes tuner."
Just because it's rare, doesn't make it good. Can we have sensible classic car prices again soon?

At a car show a few years ago a chap brought along what I think is the only right hand drive model Brabus made.
Would that be Newby Hall a few years ago. I have owned the car for 21 years now its nice to know it may have gone up in value
The yellow SLK is my other half's car which is a quite rare SLK 32AMG (faster than my Brabus)
