Might be worth dropping a line to John Pogson at Italia Autosport near Huddersfield
They look after quite a few and John is a bit of a legend having raced them back in the day.
You might not get anywhere as I’m not sure how much time he spends in the workshop these days but worth a try
I was going to say the same. They look after quite a few and John is a bit of a legend having raced them back in the day.

If John's posts on Facebook are anything to go by he's pretty active at the workshop.

Buy tickets to the Silverstone Classic there are always a few Ferrari F40's in the Ferrari Owners Club display.
Great day out for a petrolhead.
Seconded - I was about to post the very same comment. Would make a great petrolhead weekend away to boot.Great day out for a petrolhead.

There’s one at Dick Lovett in Swindon - sadly it’s a long way away for you but having dropped in there a few times for various reasons they’ve always been extremely accommodating.
Seconded. Dick Lovett garages were always kind to me when I was young and my father was getting his BMW serviced. On one occasion, I walked over to their Porsche show room. It was early morning and whilst the BMW dealership had opened for servicing appointments, Porsche had yet to open. I sat outside, moving now and then for different viewing angles. Obviously the staff had been watching me. Maybe it was because it was frigid outside, but they unlocked the showroom and invited me in to look at all of their cars. It was really quite wonderful. They even offered to let me sit in their 996 GT3, but I was too nervous and declined. It was a really kind, genuine gesture and one that I don't forget. On a side note, my parents now live next to a collector who owns an F40 (in addition to a host of other ludicrously expensive cars - we've exchanged pleasantries and he showed me one of his garages). He drives the F40 along the M48 to a local service station and back, approximately once a week, in Spring/Summertime. It's a round trip of 18-20 miles. It must be a damn fun 20 miles. A few times a year, he'll have it collected and sent for servicing, competitions and displays. It is a pristine car and it was really something to see up close.

Every Year Horsham (W.Sussex) holds Piazza Italia.
There is always at least one or two that take part.
I'm afraid Horsham Piazza Italia stopped back in 2019 - pre Covid - and I don't know of any plans for one this year. There is always at least one or two that take part.
O/P: obviously living in Scotland means F40's are even thinner on the ground than they are in the rest of the country.....There is usually one that shows up for Quay For My Car on the Italian Stallions night (should have been Friday 7th August in 2020 don't know about this year) - should you be on holiday on the South Coast?
Thank you for all your help guys....my partner actually travels down near Bristol for work quite alot so I might just tell him about the showroom...... I will definitely be looking into some of these events though and Jamie at the borders, I emailed you. Really really appreciate all your ideas and help....
Sorry about the late reply, the website wanted to make sure I wasn't spaming.

Back in the late 90s I won an experience day at Knockhill, but I think it was available to paying customers too. It was 2 laps as a passenger in a F40, an XJ220, a TWR XJS and a lightweight E Type. I can still remember the feeling as the driver floored it away from the pits in the F40 - roller coaster levels of G force. The other cars didn't make as much of an impression - the XJ220 felt like a limo in comparison and the XJS was very loud, I can't remember much about the E type. I think is it unlikely that they still run event this today, but if you phone up someone might remember something about it. The cars were owned by an Aberdeen base oil multi millionaire called Larry Kinch.

For him to get inside one would just blow his mind. Could you imagine..... I sent an enquiry form into Macari in his name asking about the car....so he should get that today, I dont think he will believe it much and I will tell him about the showroom tonight. I had a look at knockhill as he goes up regularly (pre covid) to race but me being a girl, I have only been with my dad a handful of times to watch the super bikes and I dont know what event I should buy tickets for ? I suppose calling knockhill and asking dome questions wouldn't hurt either....... you have given me loads of ideas. Thank you so much.
Sorry that it is the wrong end of the country but Simon Furlonger Specialist cars in Ashford Kent are very helpful, they have some amazing stock and have always been very open with me for looking at stuff (for work, but i don't think they would be different with standard members of the public!)
