I haven't got a summer car/weekend plaything.
Yet....
That's you, me, and most others. This "Think I'll get the Corvette out", "Just fired up the 911". Next thing it will be dick measuring.Yet....
People should f*ck off to a car website if they want to do that sort of thing.
I've no idea how to do a rolling eyes emoticon but imagine a big one here.
I've added one for you.
It's supposed to be a car forum. People should be allowed, nay expected, nay lauded for posting, 'These are all my cars and my garage and I fking love them' and filling it with pictures without criticism.
Surely sharing our cars, car experiences, questions, doubts and passion without having to feel apologetic is what it's all about?
Otherwise we might as well join Mumsnet, Climatett.com or speedkills.not.
There’s some lovely cars on this thread. Here’s my weekend toy which went back on the road this week following hibernation.
I know it’s perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea or as glamorous as some but I love it.
One of 57 Alfa Brera 1750 TBI’s in the UK. I love this car and I’m lucky to have it in my favourite colour too.
Here’s some pics taken last night on a little run out.

I visited the Alfa museum a couple of years back. Took me hours to get round it the cars are so pretty.
Well, back toward the topic...
Whilst technically more a year round than a summer car, it has spent most of winter in quarantine... All I have managed since lockdown began to lift is a trip to the dentists, a trip to the hairdressers and a trip for my jab...
However, last weekend saw it out of the garage, washed and spruced up. Finished just as the snow/sleet began to come down, so back in the garage till next weekend...:
There is supposed to be a local club run round the island in a couple of weeks time, so with any luck I can have a proper drive out soon!

Looks great. I fancy one of those as a daily. They seem to be few and far between. I know it’s perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea or as glamorous as some but I love it.

Thanks. It's not very practical as a daily and only does 28mpg from a 1.75L Turbo 4 pot. Having said that the car does weigh 72 tonnes which doesn't help!
Yes - I don't often see other Breras on the road at all. It was Alfas last mass production coupe and was discontinued in late 2010. The last cars were registered in early 2011.
I've got a 60 plate Giulietta Cloverleaf as my daily which has the same engine and I get 32 out of that.

That’s 8mpg better than my last daily which averaged 30mpg. My summer car averages about 16-20mpg. Practically isn’t an issue, my wife has a practical car. Modern stuff is nice, comfy, faster etc etc, but I have missed driving a completely analogue car.
I’ve got a Tesla, so as modern as you can get I suppose? Took my TVR out today and had a bit of a deep moment with myself, thinking ‘this is fking great!!!!’ Roof off, changing gear, looking ahead thinking about my next change, braking late, downshifting, sweeping through the countryside in the sun, exhaust echoing back at me - even at legal speeds, an old analogue car is an undoubtedly immersive experience.ColdoRS said:
