Golf out yesterday for Rustival. Last time I'll need to tax it (yes, that's a Kensington)

I haven’t used my 1984 Golf GTI since November as the weather has been so wet. I usually keep it taxed and give it a run every other week if it’s dry. I put it on SORN from December and I have just taxed it for 6 months so I can get it serviced, MOT'd and get a couple of issues sorted. It will be tax-free next year, thankfully!

Lovely. Had one exactly like that many moons ago.
Same colour, twin lights, quarter windows
Really regret letting it go.
Miniscule power by today's standards but so much fun.

Bought my first V8 for the summer/shows etc. Drove it 70 miles home on Saturday morning, and then cleaned it. It's done nothing but rain since grumpy

That looks great. thumbup

Given it has an MG badge I hope it is a manual!

Spinakker has a great thread on Readers Cars about his green one.

Thanks! Yeah it's a manual.

That thread was what prompted me to look at what was on the market as I've always had a soft spot for them.

Lovely, with the Rover connection they remind me of my old P6B 3500S that had a shiny V8 badge on the dash!

I was seriously tempted by them when MG/Rover imploded in 2005 and the local dealer was selling the MG V8s for about £18K.

Fired it up and ran it again last weekend, but still waiting for dry, salt free roads before I venture out. Will it ever stop raining ffs? irked

Garage walls and floor need a spruce up this year as well. redface

Love that! smokinthumbup

Seeing the dry roads and the temp at 15 degrees today, has really got me wanting to bring the 370Z back out of hibernation for sure. I wasn't planning on bringing it back on the road until the 1st of May, however I may do it sooner if we get more days like today though.

I'm seriously hoping this weekend's forecast changes and it turns out dry.....the Corvette might get its first outing of the year, as I do think I should tax it pre April!

It is starting to dry out and warm up now and the salt has been washed away so thought it was time. Planning to go to a car meet on Sunday it's 50/50 on rain but I need to hear the V8 again. I know a guy with a 370Z, they make such a lovely noise, such a hard edge to the exhaust note!!
