Who else is getting their Summer cars out?
Discussion
Spotted in this Porsche for sale ad. Massive want from Me. In my eyes a much better car and peak mk3 escort if it is a genuine rs1600i. Unless we get into gartrac g6 territory obviously.

Not in the same league as many PHer's cars but this has been wheeled out today, ready for a service ahead of an MOT on Monday.
Quick rant: when I was young, owning an exotic car was so thoroughly impractical that only proper enthusiasts had them. If you met someone with a pricey sports car they knew everything about it. These days, anyone with a few bob goes can go and buy a Lamborghini whilst barely knowing what they’ve bought. Here’s to the proper enthusiasts, whatever they’ve got!

Dragged a couple out of hibernation. This one was a bit sleepy and needed a little nudging to wake up:
I do think the 2.8 engine is one of BMW's best. So smooth, nice sound and pretty good on fuel. A comfy cruiser and quick enough. Got a few jobs to do but they are pretty straightforward to work on.
This on the other hand is still rapid and got its new MOT this week. I have to say it quietly because I don't want the other cars to know it's my favourite.

They are a lovely pair I reckon. I do think the 2.8 engine is one of BMW's best. So smooth, nice sound and pretty good on fuel. A comfy cruiser and quick enough. Got a few jobs to do but they are pretty straightforward to work on.

I've always been fond of both of them for different reasons.

I have 1 car and 1 bike in need of taxing, servicing and MOTing. I think I’ll get them both done in the next few weeks so they are ready from June 1st or there is a danger I’ll miss whatever summer we get altogether..
I got the car out to give it a clean a few weeks ago and to give it a pre mot check which resulted in a few little bits, not needed for the mot, being purchased; I noticed the seats feel very snug compared to the last time I sat in them - I might have to shift some winter weight.
Had a cough since end of December, but since Friday I have suspected pneumonia so I’m on a cocktail of drugs ( I’ve had a couple of cold wet rides into work which probably hasn’t helped). fking weather!
Garage needs a tidy up and I need to get some doors fitted. It’s too wet to go out and take a photo so here is the sorry current state of affairs:

Same and I'm on my eighth now. They look terrible dirty, but amazing when clean though as you say.
I also don’t like black cars. Which is obviously why two of the three cars in the household are black.

The only “league” should be enthusiasm. I’d rather see a much-loved car of a lower price point than an unloved car of a higher one any day.

Absolutely. A sports car and even more so a super car is now far more likely to signify than the owner is a marketing and branding enthusiast rather than a driving and/or motoring enthusiast. It absolutely warms my heart to see anything being used properly, I was admiring a heavily stone chipped and well used looking Aston Martin Vanquish the other week, parked among a load of carefully detailed and immaculate peacockmobiles.Quick rant: when I was young, owning an exotic car was so thoroughly impractical that only proper enthusiasts had them.
