Are you turning into your Dad?
Discussion
I think we’ve had this thread before but...are you? I just caught myself banging on the window, then running outside to scare the pigeons away from eating my grass seed, just like my Dad used to What’s your genetic idiosyncrasy?

Asking my kids if "were you born in a barn" as they repeatedly leave doors wide open, especially external doors!TBH I'd be quite pleased if I turn out like my Dad, he helped me plaster my new bedroom at the age of 73, the man's a legend!

I found myseld annoyed that a Pigeon had got onto a branch and was reaching into the seed feeder I have (for smaller birds) on a bush so I went out in the snow last week to cut it off! It picks up all the dropped ones so it can just keep doing that rather than scoffing the lot! ETA Bugger, this should have gone in the Lounge...MODS!!!!!!

I also turn down the radio when I'm looking for street signs when driving.
I once did that unconsciously when approaching an unfamilar and very busy roundabout. Sadly, turning the volume knob on the radio had absolutely no effect on the distracting and irritating noise which was actually from the (now ex) wife sitting next to me.I hope I do, mine is a good guy. Still riding his Honda Hornet motorbike at 77, and/or thoroughly enjoying the turbo boost in my mum's Fiesta ST.
When he was 70 he came up and helped me fit a kitchen to the rather run down house that we'd recently bought. He came up a few hours earlier than he said he would, and I was out the house at the time. He knew the garage was missing it's main front door, so he got his tape measure out and measured the opening, then went to a nearby supplier (he lives 250 miles away, BTW, so not exactly a local) and bought a steel up-and-over one to fit. After a 250 mile drive and one day up here, he had turned the garage from 3 brick walls into a secure and functional workshop to store materials and build kitchen units in.

I think I have some traits. I can be stubborn and I can even sit quietly for hours without talking to anyone. Otherwise I sincerely hope not. I only saw him go to mum for food or sex. He’d ignore her for hours on end otherwise. Very strange relationship. Who knows how it worked! She’s happier though without him. Hopefully it’s not too father like daughter.
