Yep, no need to commute to the station 5 days a week now (will be doing one overnight per week in the new world instead) so sold the sensible 5 Series Diesel and bought an F Type convertible instead!

Also the last 2 seater hurrah before kids come along in a couple of years.

You think that - that may change.

I’m already seeing plenty of clients back to 65% occupancy levels already with phased step ups throughout the year

The wife sold her Hybrid lexus NX300h F-Sport , settled the bit of £ she had outstanding and bought a sabb 9-3 aero convertible due to covid.

was a lot of car to be sat outside and not used, so she bought something 1/3 the price and more fun/less practical.

If in the future she finds she needs to commute on regular basis again she will no doubt then get a car more appropriate but covid has changed things quite a bit for her car wise.

Interesting. What industry/s?

Possibly worth a completely different thread on the subject but I can't imagine we will get anywhere near the same number of people commuting for work in the near or distant future.

I work in the civil service and we've gone from: Pre-covid 5 days a week in the office, During covid full time WFH and now since the 12th we are blended, 2 days in, 3 days at home.

There will be a shift and less people commuting, employers have seen the savings to be made, especially ones with prime real estate in the square mile.

We went from a 'no chance of remote working' to now 3 days at home so i'm sure many, many others will follow, imo.

I have mates in the civil service - they are happy to stay at home all day every day for the rest of their lives.

I'm back in the office full time, have been since the start of the year. My commute is a fairly pleasant 7 miles of country roads without much traffic though so I see no reason it can't be done by V8 with the roof down.

I did the opposite at the start of the lockdown and bought a car in the panic “the worlds ending” sale.

I got a e82 coupe 135i for 8k and have almost finished a 1m conversion whilst in lockdown.

I kind off did. Was spending more time working from home. Therefore less commuting = more time to surf aimlessly on the web.

I changed my M135 to a C63 that I'd found for sale through excessive surfing. I was happy with the 135, wasn't looking to change and wouldn't have seen the C63 if I wasn't at home...

Fuel was cheaper then too, which meant I could fully justify the change to myself.

Almost a year on, and bloody glad I got the car, it does have a tendency to bring out the child in me though...
