Yes, they do look a fantastic GT car though..
I’d certainly want Le Mans spec engine though with the chargers and 6-speed
The original Le Mans were not supercharged.I’d certainly want Le Mans spec engine though with the chargers and 6-speed
I would say that the car in the article, technically, is a Mk3 with a Le Mans tail, rear suspension (inc. wider wheels, arches, etc.) and a supercharged 7 litre.
In their time, in my opinion, they were truly great cars.

Or back then there was also the 7L Aston.
That’s true, the Williams one. Would they have been as quick though
The Aston has the registration '7 EXY' and is the same V8 Vantage featured in the YouTube clip posted on page 1 of the Fast Lane magazine test in 1990. At the time of that recording it was fitted with the earlier 6.3 litre engine as it was prior to the development of the 7 litre.

Hear one in action, described by Mark Hales, in this legendary recording that was issued as a cassette tape with Fast Lane magazine in 1990, along with an Aston Vantage, Countach and Porsche 959.
Yes! I listened to this so much as a 12 year old that I can probably still recite quite a lot of the commentary. The first installment with the Porsche 911 CarreraClub Sport, Sapphire Cosworth, Audi Quattro and culminating with the Ferrari F40 is a fond memory too.Edited by cannelldocam on Tuesday 11th May 11:31

I've got a 6.5l by Forward Engineering which is a fantastic engine. Whats going wrong with the one in your workshop?Edited by Ponsonby-Smythe on Friday 7th May 08:39

Have had the pleasure of hearing these being driven around the block - you can certainly hear them coming your way I like to think that I own a small part of them as I get my car serviced at that garage and normally buy my fuel there so have contributed to their upkeep (the garage owner owns the both this and the red one) - maybe a nominal washer, perhaps even a bolt...

And the issue with that engine is that by now every monkey with a spanner will have worked r magic of claiming to be an authority, making the issue ten times worse and invoicing £10k.
That's a big issue with a regular Jaguar V12, an absolute epidemic with the Zytex RS cars, and I'd be absolutely floored to find a Lister with an engine bay that wasn't full of bodgery.Lovely. Have a watch of this video to hear one running. Regarding a Merc hatchback leaving it behind, it might up to 30mph, but no chance when this is in its torque band. The hatch is also fitted with launch control and a dual clutch gearbox.
