A 530i e34. I have no idea what these are worth nowadays, but this appears to be a good price to me.

Poverty spec, SE and the M52 528i (bloody good engine); at that price. Not a chance...
That's a £2000-£2500 car MAX every day of the week
You see poverty spec I see lovely velour...That's a £2000-£2500 car MAX every day of the week
But I don't know values of these things. Looks good around the arches though.
But that 528i SE really is poverty spec and it's way, way overpriced!

No.
I also very much like the idea but frequent drives into London put the practicality of it out.
There's a series on Netflix where one of the characters has a an old Benz. It's an appealing idea.
Classics like this are actually perfect for London. Historic vehicles (currently anything built before 1 January 1981) is exempt from tax and MOT but crucially for London also Congestion Charge and ULEZ exempt.I also very much like the idea but frequent drives into London put the practicality of it out.

Another couple of years and the availability of qualifying W126s will start to come into decent numbers. That's a proper commuter that you could daily (man maths on the fuel obvs)

Owned it about 6 years, and it's been an excellent money pit.
Previously it was the throttle bodies - which are hilariously expensive from Audi, and after being fitted turns out weren't needed, just the wiring.
A bunch of suspension(bushes, bearings, cv joints), exhaust and oil leaks have coincided, plus brake lines are perished.
I'm looking forward to the exact quote, so I can start a tyre recycling centre, park it in the middle, and set it all on fire
Take some more pain while he's under there; my car had failing hydraulic lines from front to back so while he was under there I asked him about fuel and brake lines - he did them all but also found the rear calipers were fubar, as well as the rear suspension level valve weeping - which was found to be NLA...Previously it was the throttle bodies - which are hilariously expensive from Audi, and after being fitted turns out weren't needed, just the wiring.

I also asked him to carry out a full engine service and changing all 12 spark plugs 'discovered' a few other issues...
I took my w124 260E out for a run today as last time out it had started to judder on idle and when accelerating from very light throttle. Foolishly I thought it just needed a bit more use and a few country lanes would have it back to full fitness.
Started perfectly and ran smoothly until warmed up, then started to be juddery on light throttle and cut out as I stopped at a junction. Restarted and with a bit of throttle it set off, cruised ok but was getting more juddery on light throttle. After a couple of miles at a mini-roundabout it cut out as I braked and luckily I was able to glide to a safe stop.
Wouldn't start again this time, so I abandoned it and walked home. Went back four hours later and it started perfectly, but within a couple of miles it was juddering again, although it did make it home.
What do the bearded ones think is the issue?

does it have mechanical or electrical injection? A dodgy hall sensor can manifest itself when the engine is warm, and cause stalling and cutting out. Not sure mechanical injection has a hall sensor though..Started perfectly and ran smoothly until warmed up, then started to be juddery on light throttle and cut out as I stopped at a junction. Edited to add, I'm referring to the crankshaft sensor, if it has one..

I fear one of my oil leaks is an additional £1k, 50p part £999.50 labour
It's close enough to Friday to show you a 17k 750 claiming 32ks worth of options! I'm sure it's nice, it it still looks boring too!

Moisture in the distributor. Some dielectric grease at the back of the cap. Quick fix is to pop the cap off give it a clean and spray with wd40. Should fire straight back up. It's a shame that the seller is flipping a couple of hundred miles before the 60k mark for the cheaper Mondial warranty!http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/2021053032...
