No-ones going to buy this, but the oddity value merits an airing I think, a Citroën C Crosser with a 2.4 petrol engine. I cannot imagine they sold double figures with this engine, as derv was all the rage in 2009 But if you want a mid thread dog wagon, it's a rare one for sure.

If that was an auto I think it would find more fans not sure about this cross eyed look though http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/2021070245...

What ended up happening with your LS430 in the end?
If you can be patient for a few days, the thread epic will be told. What no-one else but me knows at this moment is that the 1973 Mercedes SLC, which is part of the movement plan, is currently a 1.5T non-starting static ornament in my garage. Profanity has been exhausted and fire has been considered, but the saga continues on a gentlemanly level for now.

Great spot... We're looking for a 940 wagon for my lad. I've let him know Anyway, I did pass on the above to my son and he travelled upto Perth this weekend and picked it up the scandinavian brick. I will try and get a forecourt shot and hopefully get a go in it

Somewhat unusually for me, I have proved rather less inept than usual and have solved this problem. Fingers crossed that the rest of it all goes according to plan. CharlesdeGaulle said:

I think the Boxster is massively and unfairly underrated. I'd probably seek out a 2.7 with a manual gearbox and an interesting colour scheme because it's not about going ultra-fast. They would respond well to mild customisation, IMHO. This 'S' got me all excited during the week. Is it a non-standard colour? It needs those split rims with the gold-grey centres.

I have had two Boxsters and they were both great. That said I sold my 3.4 987 Boxster for about the price of the car in your advert which seems like all the money for a 986.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202106234...
My 986 S cost me £2000 but looked a bit like it had been parked in a canal and had 180,000 miles, that said it had had a full suspension refresh and drover really well. It is sitll going strong with a Rugby team mate with no issues.
I preferred the earlier car as the steering was a bit more meaty and at £2000 it was in no way 5 x 'worse' than the 987.

£2k for a 986 S is obscenely cheap!
Yes but as I said 180k miles and looked like it was parked in a canal. The market for that car was very very small, it was a controlled risk for me as I knew the PO and he had spent a lot on the running gear etc which was very much non obvious from the overall condition of the car.Ben

A great spot and he's really chuffed with it It is incredibly clean both on top and underneath and looks as good in the flesh as it does in the pics. The interior is also in fantastic shape its obviously been well looked after. A couple of little niggles to sort but nothing major. He ended up paying £2,700 for it which I didn't think was too bad considering its a very nice example. I've bagsied first dibs when he gets bored of it
Whilst I'm on a little update on the ex-Olly of this very parish LS460. I decided to treat the old girl to a full service shortly after purchase and have just returned from a weeks holiday around the Cotswolds. The car didn't miss a beat and such a great bit of kit for travelling long distances. I did have a bit of a scare as noticed a clonk coming from the rear end but on the ramps with my man confirmed it was the exhaust fouling on a bracket so some washers were duly fitted as spacers and all's well again.... I do quite miss the practicality of the X5 (that the LS replaced) so all this recent L322 talk has got me thinking... However, for now I'm quite happy to smoke around in the big Lex'.
