Best smoker barges 1-5 large [Vol 19]
Discussion
An S211 E500 with 180k miles and located in East Sussex.
I'm not quite sure what to make of it, or the seller, tbh. Silver with black alloys and a black interior is an unappealing aesthetic combo for me whilst the 'I'm an enthusiast' plus 'the errors don't bother me' plus the 'don't really need to sell' narrative is a little unconvincing, certainly with the lurid descriptions of the car as 'The Beast'. It has had the rear mufflers removed, which is interpreted as a growl but from personal experience is a deeply unappealing drone within the cabin at motorway cruising speeds, coupled with a loss in power.
EDIT: I wonder whether the seller will pop up as per the ML63 a few months ago and give mescorn the benefit of his feedback.

I wouldn't go anywhere near that seller if he was selling the last barge on this planet I'm not quite sure what to make of it, or the seller, tbh. '...an E500 V8 Estate called 'The Beast' as it is completely ruthless...'
People that give names, nicknames or any other human characteristics to their cars deserve all possible ridicule.

Front near side shock required on the CL
Is that a traditional strut one might find at ones local motor factors, or a special order air strut from Hamburg that needs a skilled programmer to install and requires remortgaging one's residence to pay for it?
Do you mean CL, or are you referring to the CLS above that needs one? I'm not sure either way, but that CLS is so cheap it makes you wonder! Must be the CLS as it’s mentioned in the ad.
It has Airmatic, as it’s a 500, so either MB or Bilstein if you wish to retain all the functions; the fronts are quite straightforward compared to the rears which need the subframe dropped. You can “dumb the system down” by fitting Arnott units which are cheaper and remove the variable settings.
Apologies, not forecourt shot, and will be devisive in here, but for £3.995, I had to push the button due to dog carrying needs
Non turbo 340 bhp V8 - 109k miles; probable wallet disaster incoming.
I think we all agree the PORSCHE script needs to go down the side, or is that in any way acceptably naff?
I started a thread as I can see a saga unfolding...

Nice one! I'm watching the thread for much borkness, it's like watching motorsport with these big barges!Non turbo 340 bhp V8 - 109k miles; probable wallet disaster incoming.

So it was all a dream, then?
Potentially, or it could be my 7/10 day timeframe was unacceptable against a next day from eBay? (I think I’m now remembering the dream - was it a car incapacitated on a garage ramp and time being of the essence, hence the Hobson’s choice?) bolidemichael][url said:

Yikes! A chunky starting price for that mess. Apart from the bodywork, mileage and wheels. SBC is failing and the engine appears to have fallen over. You’d spend that price again fixing it if you did it yourself. I suppose someone with zero mechanical sympathy could run it into the ground, but that’s an expensive way to own a V8….

Exciting to see a car I'd like, but which frightens me in greater measure as a thread subject. Fair play @BenjiA - hope it's a great experience, and I'll be following the dedicated thread. Non turbo 340 bhp V8 - 109k miles; probable wallet disaster incoming.
