Had this in my old CLS (219) worked treat and looks quite original.
Anyone know if these work in a W211?
I don't, but there is a dedicated part a2116800014
Looked at that without me reading glasses and thought it was a pair of binoculars
The binoculars/CLS cup holder won’t work in a 211. BM links to the correct version, which pops up from a stowage box, but it’s really designed for LHD cars and proffers your drink right where it obstructs the steering wheel.
My quandary is that is obscures the airmatic buttons and I'm always fiddling with them, along with the gear changes. The benefit of the 7G-Tronic, is that one can forever use gear braking in the E500. However, when there's a passenger, it's quite convenient as it cleverly holds two cups!

Or a V12 X300.

The correct answer, albeit slightly out of thread, is a Lexus LC500.

What estate would you look at for £5-8k? A non driving enthusiast friend fancies a comfy “Premium” upgrade to his ancient mondeo.

4 Doors?

Do love the look of the LC500 though, that and the LFA are the two genuinely attractive cars they have made.

You'd think that if driving (and therefore presumably handling) isn't important, the world is your (fridge-carrying) oyster.

E39 528i SE with a good spec:

https://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/219107/1999-5...

If I was after a waft bus for daily duties and for every day comfy riding; I'd be all over that

Heated seats & split fold rear seats sit it well above the normal crowd IMO

Audi A8 D2 6.0 w12

Very rare - I don't call seeing one for sale before.
This example isn't the best...horrible front end conversion AND engine knock; but it comes with most of the parts to convert the front to normal D2 spec. The engine..I'm not sure.
Would need to swallow and crush up and snort some brave pills..but what a machine..

Sad to see such a rare car ruined, and the D2 is peak Audi, but all that complexity and stty VAG grade engineering for 420hp and 550NM from a “not as good as a real V12” 12 cylinder engine? Bloody good reason nobody bought them.

I love that all the misguided, under developed, inadequately tested and ultimately disappointing Piech era follies exist but I’m quite happy for someone else to try and keep them going. Or not, in the case of this ruined A8.

Afternoon all - been on hols in Menorca for a 2 weeks so spent an afternoon catching up on the 300 pages that I've missed. Sadly no barges spotted but the beach eye candy could have filled Volume 20 in a few minutes.....

Anyhoo, spotted this top totty in very familiar surroundings. Shilly's had a couple of CLs up recently but I don't think this is a re-list. Needless to say, looks like it's just left the factory.

Maybe something like this - I think these colours are great on this generation of BMW; I don't normally like the lighter leather, but this seems to work. I think I'd prefer an E39, but I'm guessing that if your friend wants the premium experience, being a little newer-shaped might be useful.

It definitely looks familiar though I may be confusing it with a same-colour 500 which ended on double-thread max

Good analogy biggbn.

In female terms, Lexus is the studious girl next door, compared to the blousy skank working behind the bar. Both have their time and place, but one offers a less stressful life.

There is a bargeiste that runs one of these iirc. Possibly a lurker.
