Had the Land Rover ( discovery ) and alpine a110 combo for a while, and on top a MM 7.5 GTI PP as well - those three were a near perfect combo . Ultimately the Land Rover gave me too many headaches reliability wise and was a bit big for what we needed. So earlier this year doubled down on French and quirky , got rid of the lane rover and replaced with a DS7 in the silly top Louvre spec, complete with art podcasts and free entry to the Louvre museum.

I have seen more a110’s on the road than DS7’s, albeit now kicking myself that I didn’t hold on for the even rarer and probably better new Ds 9.

complete with art podcasts and free entry to the Louvre museum...

Seriously?! That's brilliant. or barmy. or both. And enough to make me make my first comment in PH after lurking for ages.

My 2 car garage, one as a daily and kid duty and one for fun and road trips.

Starion - excellent taste! smokin

This was mine shortly after I'd got my Integra Type R (in the background) and the Starion became my first ever 'weekend car'. It didn't make for the most versatile of 2-car pairings.

This works for me; though the Z4 is about to be sold so will have to have a good think about a replacement!

Yes.

You get a new podcast every day complete with the picture of the artwork on the infotainment system. The pass gets you in to a ‘special entrance’ in the Louvre.

The car is covered with lots of pyramid Louvre symbol artwork.

I am pretty sure I am the only person in the U.K. brave/ crazy enough to have one.

Nice!
You can’t beat a Starion!

You know, to be serious, you really can't consider anything under a Blue Oval brand mark as being a serious contender in any competition like this - irrespective of overall performance values. One does have to have a degree of credibility and flair!

Current combo is

E91 320D
R35 GTR

I'd like to change the E91 to a FFRR but suspect it's too big for the Mrs so F31 330d/335d looks realistic for family duties next.

The lack of a manual makes the A110 completely redundant in my opinion. A Defender and a Evora/Exige/Elise sounds like the two car garage you really want.

I've been thinking about the perfect garage too and I'm not sure 2 cars is enough. The current set up of F Type and F Pace covers nearly all the bases, but I think I need an MX5 or a GT86 to thrash around on track as well.

Just updating this as maybe now I have the perfect 2 car garage. I sold the Impreza wagon for a mistake of a car (Clio RS 220) which I hated. Rattled worse than a tin of pens and had such stiff suspension I hated driving it around town. So later this week I'll be picking up an M340i

Dealer pic for now (and gratuitous pic of the Alpine again because, why not)! I've already got replacement Pilot Sport 4s' ordered to be fitted next weekend to replace the run-flats and can't wait to see how she drives...my first BMW! Tanzanite Blue with Ivory leather lick

From the article the problem isn't the second car, it's the first one.

Every consideration is not buying something more fun than the A110 when the obvious solution (as suggested above) is to buy a fun manual like an Elise and then the second car is in no danger of being more fun.

I guess this thread shows how we all have a different idea as to the perfect 2 cars.
