Or just don't care, get lost and have fun ?

Oh no, I left my phone behind, panic attack... sometimes it is good to get off the Matrix and breath the fresh air.

PS I enjoy Harry M and his AA map on all his epic road trips ... he still survives to this day ...

I have to say that one of the best roads I ever ‘discovered’ in the South of France ( en route to Italy ) was down to letting my wife read a map ( no satnav in a VTS ) and her getting the ‘wrong route’ …….which turned out to be the best route!

Can't say these appeal to me greatly. The Yaris without the Circuit Pack loses some of the curio homologation curio appeal, while the Civic loses appeal if it isn't in the fully mad-looking spec. It's not a conventionally pretty car, so it just looks a bit nothing-y without the wing. A GT but with the black seats would be the ideal one for me.

Yaris left me a bit underwhelmed after driving it sadly. The seating position was totally unsuitable for my frame and, like so many new cars, you would have to be going idiotically fast to really get to the point of enjoying it. That is also true of the Civic in reality though.

If I was to have either of them, it would have to be in the top spec. I can't help but think that a Fiesta ST would be a more enjoyable car though. 200bhp is probably about enough to balance fast/fun.

Barely depreciate? Have you seen the finance offers? Low mileage ones are probably going to go up in price once production stops.
With 25,000 made, it’s hardly going to be rare. Like all cars, today’s must have will soon become yesterday’s news. It’s never going to have a real rallying heritage as so few manufacturers now run cars and at the end of the day, it’s a Yaris like your Aunt Doris drives to the shops. Buy it to enjoy now before Doris moves on to her EV which will probably be quicker 0-60 (which is handly if she is running late for Pilates).

I have one so a bit biased but I honestly don't think we will ever see a manufacturer make a car like the GR Yaris again and because of that it will never be yesterdays news. I think in 10 years it will be one of those cars that we look back on and say 'I can't believe they actually built that'

Bizarre how “naked” the Honda looks in sport line guise without its obligatory spoiler biggrin
Exactly what I thought.
The rear wing is the FK8's defining feature and it just doesn't look right without it.
I liked the FK8 so much when I first seen photos of it that I became one of the very first private owners in the UK. driving

Remove the Type R debadges, fit silver H badges and you have a nice little Q car.
If that was your goal then you would also need to remove the triple rear pipes. wink

There are no more new Civic Type R available, whatever flavour.

The Dealers are phoning round trying to buy cars back!

Unless you're on a lease and just intend to hand it back at the end of the term, I don't see any point in buying one without the circuit pack.

Come the time to sell, most buyers will `want` the circuit pack. So having one without could well be as tough sell.

Though I do wish I could have bought the convenience pack along with the circuit pack. But hey-ho.
Thing is with the circuit pack you can't have sat nav!
Don't understand the need for factory sat nav. It will be obsolete b4 you know it and updates will be £££. Is it not cheaper and easier to buy a top model tomtom or Garmin with lifetime updates? I do get the want for circuit and convenience pack together however.

Does the Yaris have a bit of the 6R4 Metro ‘look’ about it? Blocky and kind of truncated... Je t’aime..! Anyone got any pictures?

In many ways very true.

But would you not prefer an integrated sat nav rather than sticking it to the window??

Why would you stick it on the window, there is Apple car play and an integrated screen in front of you rolleyes
Better than Sat Nav fitted to the car.

Good test, I’d say there will be very very few standard gr Yaris on the road. Civic is a good car but Yaris for me.

No mention about the bar stool driving position of Yaris, the fundamental of getting the experience right in the first place. Honda Civic Type R all day long.
