Why would you stick it on the window, there is Apple car play and an integrated screen in front of you rolleyes
That's of no use whatsoever if you do not have an iphone. rolleyes
It also has Android Auto.smile
Of course it does, I am well aware of this...but it was not the point I was making. wink
What was your point?

No mention about the bar stool driving position of Yaris, the fundamental of getting the experience right in the first place. Honda Civic Type R all day long.
I’ll forgive you as you are only a couple of posts in to PH, but the narrative DOES mention the driving position, albeit briefly.
As mentioned, Litchfield do a kit to lower the seat and a different seat which are available soon (I thought they were already available but apparently not) which should sort out the ‘up in the Gods’ driving position.

Think the height seating position has been talked up so on social and forums its just become a mandatory part of the car’s narrative .... but i just don't see and issue at all really.

6’2” and wouldn’t have given it a second thought were it not for it now being mandatory to list when discussing this car.

Never had a Japanese car before but would happily have either of those. Cracking motors.

it’s a Yaris like your Aunt Doris drives to the shops. Buy it to enjoy now before Doris moves on to her EV which will probably be quicker 0-60 (which is handly if she is running late for Pilates).
Great comment. Makes you sound like A) An idiot, or B) A Troll.

I'll go C). Both.

I avoided getting the Civic TypeR because of its looks, the sport line for me is still quite shouty so if you’re going to get one you might as well get the full fat version.

The Civic looks cool rather than embarrassing now. Swap the black H badges from the 1.6 over and remove the type R. Driving fun without neds trying to race you.

Only a fat friends difference in weight surprises me.
The Yaris is fab but should be 100kgs lighter. IMHO.
I'd love to be behind a GR in my 172 cup (1010kgs) and see the real world difference that 18 years has achieved.
I surmise it is mostly software based trickery?

So taking off the rear wing and fitting smaller wheels somehow makes it look cool in you opinion. Ok then. laugh
Why would you want to fit the badges from the diesel model?

I don’t know where you’d save the weight on the Yaris. There’s been a few owners that have stripped the car and it only adds up to a few kg. Remember it is AWD and with all the modern safety tech that cars now require to be fitted.

As good as a 172 Clio is, it wouldn't take more than a few hundred yards and a handfull of bends to get a GR Yaris a long way ahead. You clearly haven't driven one.

Absolutely. Not only that, but a very easy car to use the performance in, too, so even aunty Doris could waste the Clio on her way to the shops. laugh

I think you need to have a sit inside a modern car. Yaris by all rights should be 100kg heavier! It’s a feat of engineering they got it to a true 1280kg. Refinement is on another level compared with a Clio and its AWD. Never sure how true older weights are. Yaris is a child heavier than a Mk8 Fiesta ST for reference.

172ish power vs 270ish bhp and 150lbft vs 270lbft, 270kg of weight won’t tip the scales in the clios favour. The Clio is fantastic but it’s completely out gunned here. Probably even in peak lateral speed on an apex as well if I’m honest. I still own a 2.0NA hot hatch myself and the GR Yaris. Just because the GR Yaris is quicker it doesn’t diminish how great another car is.

A lot of difference. Drove one last week and was impressed. You wouldn't be behind it for long...well not close up anyway.

I thought that the CivicType R Limited Edition from a few months ago, was the swan-song for this iteration of the Civic - as UK manufacturing of the Civic (where all Type R Civic are built) is ending next month. Will there be more final, limited editions, or is this the end of the FK8 ???

The Dealers are telling me its the end of production of the FK8 in the UK. No new cars available.
Good for residuals though, WBAC are offering 29.5k for my 2 year old GT with 11k miles. I only paid 32k for it.

Its not for sale. What would I replace it with?

Usual non committal PH article, the headline is this car 'V' that one but never offers a definitive conclusion, as in I'd buy that one, there again if your core activity is flogging cars, maybe you cant be brave.

Agreed much press about this, very much a personal thing really, it was a show stopper for us. I really didn't like it and the passenger seat is higher still. We do lot's of 'two up' fast road touring and my wife didn't find it a comfortable place to be when pushing on.

Haven't driven the Civic but would love to, is it really that good at managing torque steer ? I love hot hatches for what they are and the fun factor but just got fed up of torque steer as a consequence of all that blown 4 pot torque/ power that they all have these days.
