Automotive Tat

What does it tell you about the previous owner that will affect the condition of the car?
At best it tells you nothing, but it might give an idea about previous owner and whether I'd want to bother dealing with them. It might even be an indication how barry boy has driven it. swisstoni said:
I was going to say that pretty much anything that the car didn’t roll out of the factory with can be classed as
Tat.
But then I remembered that the manufacturers ‘accessories’ often contain some very expensive tat too.
I remember seeing a Brabus G class at the FOS. Above the base vehicle, it had over €450k of additional’stuff’Tat.

These annoy me far more than they should as well. In a blatant example of indoctrinating children in incorrect behaviour, they’ve even made it on to children’s pedal cars. This abomination soured an otherwise enjoyable trip to a local toy shop with my young nephew recently.
Frankly ,the sign calling it a “BMW Jeep” upsets my CDO far more...Zarco said:

‘4D’ number plates. It’s also on my list of early warning signs that it’s likely to be driven by a throbber.
If it’s on a BMW I believe it’s a prerequisite. Edited by nickfrog on Sunday 13th June 17:14
Why are wind deflectors so offensive to some?
I've had them on many of my cars, always Heko, they're fairly useful.
I can leave the windows cracked when it's warm and not worry about rain, with the added bonus of it being more difficult to see the windows are slightly open.
They're also good for keeping the rain out when driving if the windows are open, and I think they look good most of the time.

disagree there - there's a large and thriving aftermarket scene with a lot of decent stuff available (and, I'll admit, a lot of tat too!)Tat.
When I was 17 the only tat I could afford for my Mini 850 was a large set of these, which nicely restricted forward view.
If you had a decent car (like a jacked up Capri) for the Berk About Town they were the thing to have.
I liked to think I put them on for the irony, but I don’t think I was fooling anyone.
