In south London the roadmen tend to lease Merc A-classes.I’ve seen a few in C63s too, so its not just a NW London thing.
This is all a product of dirt cheap money. Even a council estate rat can afford £400 a month in car payments, particularly when their rent is paid for by tax payers, and their illegal side hustles are cash in hand.
Living in London really changes your perspective of cars. Nobody bats an eyelid at what would be impressive cars, because of the sorts that buy them here.

We're yet to hear Mayor Khan's strategic policy on tackling this phenomenon.
M4s , C63s and S5s round here; M135s and Golf Rs for those not quite as successful.
It's bloody annoying as I'm going to have to get a car with 4 seats soon (children likely in the near future) and something like a C63 or M3 would be perfect in terms of budget and practicality whilst also being good to drive but they've somewhat been ruined (although the saloons aren't as bad for the rudeboys as the coupe)...looks like it's either an Alfa QV or save some more money to go for an M5 or E63 instead.

Around here the top of the tree is M3s (or replicas)
Then Audis
Then Mercs
All have no front number plate, illegal window tints and machine gun exhausts and are driven as if stolen.
Lower down the tree it's Golfs and Leons with the same mods
Right at the bottom of the pile is electric scooters (we are not in a trial area) but ridden with the same aggressive "mow you down" attitude.

Dirty diesels blatting around central London 20mph zones by Roadmen subsidised by tax payers.
Criminals taking up valuable parking space with their resident permits in central London.
Perhaps Mayor Khan hasn't thought about this ?

Buy the C63 estate, the Innit Bruvs don't like them It's bloody annoying as I'm going to have to get a car with 4 seats soon (children likely in the near future) and something like a C63 or M3 would be perfect in terms of budget and practicality whilst also being good to drive but they've somewhat been ruined (although the saloons aren't as bad for the rudeboys as the coupe)...looks like it's either an Alfa QV or save some more money to go for an M5 or E63 instead.

Gangster types love German whips. It makes them look sofisticayted. Think Merc has more of an "upmarket" image than BMW
Lots of C63's round my way as well, SE London. Plenty blacked out Range Rovers as well.

My absolute favourite thing about that video is that at about 1:48 you can see he’s overdue a service by 200 days. Not much point making a video flexing your German whip if you can’t afford to run said German whip…

The really rude boys got a 05 Clio V6 twin turbo, of course
Lil' f**kin' Kev (now aged ~28) was done for firearms offences back in 2017, a rude boy indeed - and clearly not one to f**k about. It's the same story since the 80s - whatever's cheap(ish), fast, a bit flash and works for a one-car owner (so no sports cars.)
There's also that jealousy thing; people wishing they could liberate themselves from worrying about pensions, university fees and other middle-class, deferred gratification stuff. "Screw the aging Qashqai. £4k in my pocket, £400/mnt committed - sorry darling; Johnny will just have to stay in the comprehensive until 2024..."
