Wonder how dealers will cope with this. It's going to cause turnover issues.
No new cars to sell. Lease companies are having to hang on to end of lease cars as no new car available so no few 3 year olds. They are going to be fighting over very few second hand cars.
Hence why used prices are skyrocketing No new cars to sell. Lease companies are having to hang on to end of lease cars as no new car available so no few 3 year olds. They are going to be fighting over very few second hand cars.

we have an X3 on order since March and its spec was impacted by this. No adaptive cruise, lane assist, etc. And no ETA on the issue being solved.
you now cannot spec the car with adaptive....
No lane assist is no bad thing having had a new 1 series as a courtesy car; it was bloody annoying and even more annoying that it had to be turned off each time you got in the car.you now cannot spec the car with adaptive....

Wasn't there pictures on the news just before lockdown with hundreds of thousands of new cars sitting in airfields unsold....?
What happened to them all, did they eventually filter into the system....?
They all got bought up by people with 2 years worth of holiday money sat burning a hole in their mattress. What happened to them all, did they eventually filter into the system....?
On rennlist, there are American customers getting their new Porsche Cayennes without electric steering controllers so the steering column is adjusted at the dealership with a laptop for the drivers. Porsche will retrofit the controllers when available.
I’ve a friend here who had to order a Mercedes without a sunroof because the controller to operate it wasn’t available.

Q7 ordered 2 weeks ago.. build week 41, 3 weeks earlier than they originally thought..
BMW wouldn't let us order an x5 with hk stereo wireless phone charger or comfort access due to shortages in chips.
Volvo xc90 would probably be delivered in 4 week if your ordered one as the tech in that seems to be running on Intel 486sx chips which must have surplus from 1993 available still....

I have a Toyota Hilux on order here in NZ. The Toyota website says "over 6 months" for delivery but the dealer assured us it would be about 3 months, so mid August. It's all gone quiet so hopefully there aren't any delays.
Used Hiluxes with up to 10,000 km are selling for $5,000+ above list price.

I don't what that to be seen as fact as clearly it's a re post of another forum, but It might be worth checking I'm going to check before I sign my docs which are due to be sent across today/tomorrow.
I can imagine a few years down the line people will talk about not buying a 2021 spec car and to go for a 2020 or 2022 if that makes sense

I can confirm being directly impacted by this:
X3, X4, 3-series, 4-series (all models):
Driver Assistance Pro not offered
The "compensation" figures from the US market would not work in mine
When I ordered my M4 they checked the driver assistance pro issue and told me it didn’t effect the m cars X3, X4, 3-series, 4-series (all models):
